Revelation: A Book Worth Studying
Jeff Cavins had a clerical position in a faith other than Catholic, then decided to practice Catholicism. I do not recall the other religion, nor if it was initially Catholic, perhaps he did not mention it on the tapes. Or, I forgot. God used ...

Revelation: A Book Worth Studying
blackspanielgallery, Thank you for insights and products. Wikipedia describes Jeff Cavins as having an evangelical pastoral career before returning to his cradle, Catholic faith. Is that incorrect? You indicate that "I had heard Revelation was ...

Revelation: A Book Worth Studying
Thanks, I thought you might have a deeper insight into both the history and the Book itself. My purpose is to give the significance, and advise on going beyond a reading. It would be difficult to read cognitively without expert guidance, the ...

Revelation: A Book Worth Studying
The majority of early Christian thinkers followed Justin Martyr in ascribing the book to John the Apostle, but a minority agreed with the historian Eusebius in thinking that it was written by John the Elder. Interestingly, in 22:9 the angel ...

Revelation: A Book Worth Studying
The author does just call himself John. He does not elaborate. If read right, with expert guidance, the book does explain much, and can be uplifting.

Revelation: A Book Worth Studying
Wise advice. Revelations needs expert guidance. There are doubts about the authorship, for some think that the author was John the Elder [presbyter] not John the Evangelist. It is important not to read any clues about the history of the ...

I assume you are referring to Fredericksburg and New Breuffels. I probably got the spelling wrong. No, there is no connection. A wave of Germans came to Louisiana in the 1800s. One branch of my family was included, a migration from Bavaria. ...

England's Nazareth: the shrine at Walsingham
The churches continued as churches of the Church of England. , for example the church at Ushaw where they found the vestments. Other buildings either were left to decay, smashed to bits or plundered for stone. I think that the church treated the ...

England's Nazareth: the shrine at Walsingham
Interesting. One thing I am not clear on is that when Henry VIII seized Catholic buildings, many had cloister sections. Also, many were churches. To remove a cloister status, or to decommission a church requires the performance of ritual. ...

England's Nazareth: the shrine at Walsingham
Yes, walking back barefoot to retrieve footwear was the norm. Nothing taken from the slipper chapel was returned. It was a minor site compared with the holy house, so little or nothing of great value was kept there. Very little was recovered ...

Piriformis - an unusual form of sciatica
Veronica, Thank you for sharing practicalities and products. Please accept my meditations and prayers for complete recovery. Do doctors know why piriformal sciatica expressed itself when it did? Is it the way you were sitting or (despite the ...

England's Nazareth: the shrine at Walsingham
frankbeswick, Thank you for the back- and front-stories and product lines. Did pilgrims walk back barefoot to retrieve their footwear from the Slipper Chapel? Did the recovery of the Slipper Chapel inspire return of anything taken from it?

Piriformis - an unusual form of sciatica
Ty for your kind words. Yes stretching is key to good health. I now stretch my Piriformis at least twice daily. The Physio therapist reckoned that at worst, we should stretch our Piriformis 6 or 7 times a day. Keep stretching.
