Best Gifts for Corgi Lovers

by Ragtimelil

Here's a collection of some of the best gifts for corgi lovers, guaranteed to tickle your fancy.

Welch corgis are a very unique breed, with their short legs and big attitude. Even the Queen of England can see the charm in these little herding dogs. Reputed to be the favorite mount of fairy warriors, they often have a dark mark on their backs said to be the mark of the saddle.
They are divided into two distinct breeds, the Pembroke Welsh corgi and the Cardigan Welsh corgi. The tailless Pembroke, is more commonly seen that the slightly larger Cardigan, alleged to be one of the oldest breeds of dogs in Britain.

Corgi Calendars

Calendars are always appreciated. You can't go wrong giving someone a calendar of their favorite breed of dog. A calendar is useful and decorative at the same time.

I put these two at the top so that everyone could see the two corgi breeds and the difference between them. Pembroke Welsh corgis are most commonly seen in the sable, shown here, and the tri color with the dark saddle mark on the back. The colors listed for the Pembroke are:

  • Fawn
  • Red
  • Blue
  • Black & White
  • Black & Tan
  • Sable

The Cardigan Welsh Corgi comes in even more colors. The colors include:

  • Black & White
  • Red & White
  • Brindle & White
  • Sable & White
  • Blue Merle & White
  • Merle

There are also tri colors with certain colors such as the sable and merle.

And, of course, they have a tail.

Tri Color Corgi Plush Toy

Tri colored corgis are hard to find in toys. This is one of the few and is a very popular item. It's soft and cuddly and is larger than some other corgi toys which makes it a hit with collectors.

It's recommended for all ages, 3 and up. Grown men have even been known to take it to work with them and to keep it in the office or on the desk. I'm told it's not particularly good at herding stuffed sheep.

This adorable pup comes with wire in the ears so they can be bent to change the expression. May need brushing to fluff it up when it arrives. The makers claim it can be machine washed but one owner said hers didn't do well. Maybe better to surface clean.

Corgi Socks

Here's a great pair of socks that any corgi lover will adore. It's made of lightweight stretch cotton (3% nylon and 3% spandex) and sports some handsome pictures of corgis. It will not stretch even after many washings.

This item shows the Cardigan Welsh corgi but it also comes with the Pembroke showing both the tricolor and the sable.

It fits adults with a shoe size of 9 to 11.

Corgi Weather Vane

I love weather vanes. I can't think of a better way to put the finishing touches on a house, garage or other building. This lovely weather vane is made in the USA from 16 gauge steel and has a powder coat baked on finish. It has stainless steel sealed ball bearings in the wind cup and interchangeable tops.

This model is the Pembroke Welsh Corgi, but this company makes one with a Cardigan as well.

Corgi Doorstop

This lovely corgi will keep your doors open when you need them to, or just sit quietly as a decoration when you don't.

These are wooden (fiberboard) doorstops, 1/2 inches think and decorated with a lithograph from original artwork from a Stupell artist and hand finished with painted edges. It has a hinged wedge on the back to hold doors open.

They are manufactured and designed in the USA. They measure approximately 15 by 15 inches.

Corgi Wall Hooks

I'm always looking for a way to keep my dog leashes and car keys handy so I can find them when I need them. Here's a great way to keep leashes, keys and treat bags handy by the door and show off your favorite breed of dog too.

These leash hooks are made in the USA and are practical for both indoor and outdoor use. They are made from 18 gauge steel and come with a black satin finish.

Corgi Ornament

Our pets are part of our family and get excited about holidays almost as much as we do. Celebrate the season with an ornament of your favorite breed of dog.

The corgi ornament measures 3-1/2 x 2-3/4 x 1-1/2 inches and comes packed in a reusable box for storage. It has a metallic cord for hanging on your tree.

Sandicast was founded in 1981 by artist Sandra Brue. She wanted to combine her art and her love of animals.  Collectors now search out her exceptional work to add to their collections.

Corgi Wine Stopper

Here's a very handy and practical gift for a corgi lover - a wine bottle stopper. These stoppers are hand painted for the best in realism and measure approximately 3 inches tall. The little dog sits on a pewter base that tops a cork designed to fit any standard bottle and will keeping wine fresh for a limited amount of time. (They are not for long term storage.) The corgi stopper comes in a velvet drawstring pouch that makes it a perfect gift.

I know you'll find the best dog and give it a great home. Pit bulls are great dogs buy you have to have good "dog eyes' and protect them from the world - as you know.

We,re shopping around for a new dog, my youngest wants a new puppy for Christmas, she was interested in Corgi's but we are looking in shelters so it comes down to what ever she falls in love with. She really likes pit bull terriers but the laws and regulations have us thinking twice, we work with them in shelter situations and they are such smart and lovable dogs. It's all about how they're raised i guess. :)K
