I've never heard of lentil chips before, but they sound good!
One American doctor made an experiment on himself. He spent few months eating only carbs (which are considered fat gain food), but he limited them to 1500 calories per day. This is less than needed dayly intake of energy. He lost 15 kilos in those few months being only on carb diet.
The point is: carbs are not the reason someone gains weight, it is the quantity. At least in theory, and in this experiment. :)
But in my oppinion, health is more important than weight. So, be careful with carbs. Katie, you put some great products in your article. Veg and celiac friendly, with less fat... I assume, with such diet, you will loose weight, but won't harm your health.
grandi, I love potatoes too, I like mine boiled or baked plain with a dash of pepper and sea salt, if people would give potatoes a go plain I think they would find just how amazing the are alone. Plus, very nutritious and non fattening when eaten alone boiled or baked! Good point!
Potatoes are my all-time favourite carbs.
When I need to drop off a pound or two, I use to wash potatoes thorougly and cook them in a boiling water. Afterwards, I peel off the skin and eat the potatoes that are tasty and tremendously filling.
For someone more demanding, a spoon of quark cheese or slice of hard cheese would improve the meal significantly!
