Comparison Between Micro Niche Finder & Market Samurai

by wrylilt

A look at two popular keyword research tools and how they compare.

There are many different keyword research tools that are advertised on the internet. Each one works in different ways but by using the same basic information – search engine results from Google.
I’ve found that many pages on the internet expounding the greatness of keyword tool programs are written by people who have a vested interest in convincing you of the program’s value. They’ll provide you links to a site and earn money if you buy the program.
I’m not affiliated with Micro Niche Finder or Market Samurai – so I won’t be giving you any links. In fact this hub is based just on personal experience and with the interest of helping you select which of the two is better, depending on what your needs are.

Micro Niche Finder

Micro Niche Finder is a great basic way to do more in depth keyword analysis than allowed by the adwords keyword tool. You can easily find, store and check keywords.

The main feature involves checking the SOC (strength of competition), giving you an idea of how easy it will be to rank with google for a particular keyword. SOC will show either red, yellow or green, letting you know that a keyword will be hard, medium or easy to rank for.
You also have the option to check backlink anchor text for the number of inanchor, intitle and inurl counts for that particular keyword.

Market Samurai

Market Samurai is a much more in depth analytics tool. Due to the sheer amount of information it can provide, analysis can take quite a bit of time (some parts can take 20-30 seconds to load as the data is analyzed and pulled from Google.)
It has some very good features including the ability to easily remove particular words from keyword results (for example on a keyword search on the word hat, you can remove all results with the word "blue" in them.) You also have the option to narrow down results by the number of searches, competition and commerciality.
They also have a few nifty features which offer you calculated earnings per day for the #1 spot on google for your selected keywords as well as some other nifty calculations.
One feature I think is very good for those who need some serious in depth analysis is the SEO competition tool. This tool does take a while to load but provides a full page of information about the top ten results for your keyword - including domain ages, backlinks and relevance.

Recommendations

I've used both keyword tools and both are good, depending on your needs. MNF gives a fast but general view of your keyword while MS gives slow but very in depth information.
These would be my personal recommendations for the two programs:
Micro Niche Finder - For small real world businesses, bloggers, revenue sharing article writers or people who want fast and relevant results.
Market Samurai - For web masters, serious internet affiliate marketers, or anyone who wants very in depth information.
Other notes: Market Samurai keyword research tool is still available after your trial is ended.

I'm still just a newbie but I'm getting the hang of MS and I like the SEO competition section. I don't always use it, but when I do I am pleased.
