I was a late comer to the wonderful world of Dr. Seuss. Don't ask me how I missed him in my very young years, but I did. Luckily I became an Aunt at a fairly young age and my nephew was kind enough to share his love of these books with me. Especially if I would read them to him.
Needless to say, he didn't have to ask me twice. We both loved the way the words rhymed and just the very sound of them as they tripped off the tongue of the reader made us laugh. These were books that were written to be read aloud.
And the wonderful stories weren't ones to be read once and forgotten, either. Over and over we kept coming back to them. They were our very favorite reading session material. At the time we thought them perfect in every way.
But now we have been proven wrong. With the addition of the Dr. Seuss stuffed animal collection, now they are even better.

What's Your Favorite Dr. Seuss Book?
Well, just think how jealous your friend would be if you got the Cat in the Hat plush! Ha!
Dr. Seuss just seems to get better the older I get! My friend has a Thing 1 and Thing 2 set of plushies that I'm envious of :)
Those are some great ones too. It's funny, but while other people go around quoting the great poets and philosophers, I'm quoting Dr. Seuss! Maybe he was one of the great poets after all...
I'm with you -- I love Horton the best! We also read Red Fish, Blue Fish and the Things You Can Think Up about seven dozen million times each. Not to mention the ABC's -- I can still recite that one by heart. Green Eggs and Ham, too.
