by spirituality

Electronic gadgets and gizmos for teenagers make great gift ideas for the holidays and their birthdays.

If you have been wondering what some good ideas for gifts would be for a teen in your life, I do not think that you can go wrong by choosing some electronics for teens. What was once in the not so distant past considered items that were for geeks, are no so much of our daily lives that any teen would be happy to get a gift of a new electronic device.

Smartphones, tablets, laptops or even a new games console would be a wise choice when it comes to giving a gift to a teenager this year.

Teens And Tablets

There are some wonderful tablets available on the market right now and they are perfect for teens to have and use. Allowing mobility in their computing no matter where they are.

The functions of the tablets vary slightly by the manufacturer but are basically run on Apps that the teen can choose to personalize their tablet device.

They can use the web to do research for school homework and projects and even take it to school with them. So, it is a useful tool.

For the fun part, they can usually stream movies and call up music to listen to. Also watch the latest YouTube video that everyone is passing around as so hot you can't miss it.

The tablet will allow them to connect with their favorite social media site along with sending and receiving emails. Plus they can play their favorite games and read a book if they want.

A New Phone Makes A Great Gift

Your teen may already have a cell phone but you are thinking that it is time for an upgrade especially if their phone is one that would be considered kind of "old school", now. I am sure that your teen will most definitely want a smartphone that has all or at least some of the new "bells and whistles" that come on the newer phones.

The phones to the left are the top rated phones sold on the popular shopping site, Amazon. As you can see there is a variety of the operating system used by the phone. The iPhone still seems to be the phone of choice.

The windows phones have really gained in popularity with teens and adults alike. Microsoft has gotten better with mobile type apps and many are loving these phones.

Samsung has the Galaxy Note phone that is really popular. Running on the android operating system this phone has so many features on it that any teen (or adult for the matter) would love to have on their phone.

Does Your Teen Need A New Laptop?

A laptop comes in mighty handy for our teen to do their school work on. They may have to do research for a project or a term paper and they may need to type it out and print it to hand in. They great thing about a laptop is that they can use it in their room and if necessary take it to school, if they need to.

I suggest that for a teen, you find one that is lightweight so that when they do have to take it somewhere it will not strain their backs. They may still have some growing going on, you know.

I have shown the best rated laptops to the right for you to consider. One of the first things that you will want to look at is the operating system that the laptop uses. The Macbooks out rate the other laptops by quite a lot. In fact, in my research the first eleven on the list were the Apple run Macbooks.

If you are going to get a Windows based laptop, I would recommend getting one with Windows 7 or 8 on it. Windows 8 is going to have a more mobile ready functionality and is good if you choose a laptop that has a touch screen feature. Convertible laptops running windows should also have the new Windows 8 on them.

Video Games

Most teens love to play video games and many want a system that they can play the games on at home. You probably already know that, though.

Getting them a new game console is probably something that they will really enjoy especially if they are a real gamer at heart.

My advice on the game consoles is to go with the system that is going to offer the type of games that they will like to play. If they have an older model, getting one that might have some comparability with existing games that they play often is a good idea. More economical, too, because you will not need to purchase as many games that way.

The most popular systems out there right now are: Xbox, Nintendo's Wii and Playstation. If you are thinking a PlayStation, the PS3 is pretty exciting but you should know that Sony plans to release the PS4 during the 2013 holiday season so you might want to wait so that you have the latest and greatest in video game consoles from that manufacturer.

Lightweight, sturdy and able to go online, that's the basic feature list of a back to school laptop for teens, so which laptop should you get?
Your teenager will love their iPad, but it does require extra protection to stay whole despite rarely being very careful with their stuff.
THE best way to carry a laptop is a backpack: great for your back, and perfect protection for your notebook.
Deciding on what laptop to buy is tough. Personally I went with a 13 inch laptop because it's just large enough to make typing a decent experience, yet small enough to carry.
Top presents teens want to get for Christmas this year - with the option for boys to share their own favorite gifts.
The idiot box became the poor cousin due to internet during the past 2 Decades. Ultra HD television (UltraHD) makes up for that with far better visuals and audio.
