All the elephants in the world are grey, but Elmer is different. He is a bright colored patchwork elephant.
You may guess where this story is going in David McKee's "Elmer: The Story of a Patchwork Elephant". The first Elmer book for toddlers published in 1989 became popular and many have followed.
Now in 2018, there is on the marketplace, 40 Elmer titles, a TV series in England, and board books for younger book lovers. There is even a colorful Elmer plush to cuddle while the Elmer books are being read.
Young listeners will want to hear Elmer's story over and over. The books illustrated by the author in rich colors and motifs will occupy a treasured place in the family libraries.

paperfacets, Thank you for the backstories and products. Are you going to be getting the plush animal line for your grandson? The books are educationally entertaining and entertainingly educational. What a fun way, with the dual language versions, to start a child learning languages early on!
Just blessed with a first grandchild and I am already choosing Elmer books for him. My kids did not experience Elmer but it is never too late for enjoying superbly illustrated books! It is exciting to offer the whole family something new for their reading time.
Oh indeed Elmer is a huge favourite in UK. My young pupils loved Elmer and I did countess displays and art lessons, literacy lessons and story times.
Thank you. You have brought back a lovely memory.
