I have just put together a page which started from me looking at the statistics for both sites out of interest.

What do you think?

Your comparison was very interesting. I especially liked the data comparing page loads and visitor habits. Squidoo has always mystified me in terms of how we get paid. But with all of the Squids here, I might have to try to figure it out.

But for now, my heart belongs to Wizzley. My goal is to get to 100 Wizzles asap to maximize my revenue potential. The Christmas contest camaraderie has certainly helped and it's been a great deal of fun. It's good to be part of a community.

It's a great page, Paul -

We often talk about how amazed we are with Wizzley in the forums...but your making a page about it was a perfect idea!

Thanks!!

Thanks that's very kind of you - I was looking at the comparison on Alexa and thought "hmm this would make an interesting page" and then a little while later through the magic of Wizzley.....

I can't tell you how proud and grateful I am for the privilege of working with you guys.

Thank you all.

Well done, Paul, and useful. I have a question about the comparison charts. It's a little thing, but on an emotional level, it impacts my underlying trust of the data. Others less sympathetic to Wizzley might be affected likewise.

On the load time comparison, the Squidoo report shows 64% of sites "faster," while the Wizzley report shows 67% of sites "slower."  Impressive stats, and I am curious why the different criteria from one to the other. It seems the stats would be just as impressive if the same criteria were used, and that little question wouldn't pop into one's mind.

Similarly,  on bounce rate, the Squidoo side shows "Yesterday" in addition to "7 day," "1 month," and "3 month." I can't help wondering why "Yesterday" was omitted on the Wizzley side.

It may seem nitpicky, but to a person who once earned her living putting the best spin on data, I am sensitive to small omissions and differences. Others may be too. I'd love to see a true apples to apples type comparison, if that is possible.

Again, very well done page, and useful information. Thank you for providing it.

Grace thanks for the kind comments.  The figures/stats/criteria are of course taken from Alexa so they would be better placed to explain their logic.  However, their data is universally used when looking at these types of comparisons.  I have noticed that they tend to use the higher figures when commenting on any site so that is why they use the 64% and 67% figures.

The reason for the difference in what they report on bounce rate is because Wizzley is a new and lower traffic site at the moment they only report on more limited periods of time rather than daily

Hope that helps
