While it is true that a number of Skylanders are difficult to find, the glow in the dark Skylanders are virtually impossible to find at any price.

I don't know about you, but I love trying to hunt down rare Skylanders.
It has become a sort of obsession with me lately. Each and every Saturday morning, my son I load up in the car and head out to at least five local superstores. While it is certainly nice to find some rare, what we are truly searching for are the ultra rare glow in the dark Skylanders.
Why Skylanders that Glow in the Dark?
Ever since I was a kid, I enjoyed things that glowed in the dark. I used to have some silly putty that would shine brightly while I laid in bed trying to fall asleep. To make it even better, my son seems to have developed this same affinity.
From what I can tell, not every character is available in the glow the dark variant. I have, unfortunately, never been able to find one in the store myself.
But from my research online, the following characters have been auctioned for sale:
I have not seen any other characters available with this variant.
There are, of course, custom Skylanders for sale on eBay that you may, or may not, enjoy. I am, however, a HUGE fan of custom toys so this fact does not bother me too much.

If you are not having any luck finding these ultra rare glow in the dark Skylanders, maybe you will have better luck with the new Skylanders Sidekicks.
Unlike your typical Skylanders toys, the Skylanders Sidekicks will not be available in any store. They are, in fact, only going to be available to those households that elect to participate in the Skylanders Sidekicks Frito Lay promotion that starts July 9th.
What Figures are Included in the First Wave of Sidekicks?
It should come as no surprise that the first Skylanders Sidekicks that will be available are based upon a few of the most popular Skylanders characters. My personal favorite is probably Whisper Elf although Terrabite is running a close second right now. Also slated to be released are Trigger Snappy and Gil Runt.
