All you need to know...
Ease of Use: One of the first things I noticed was how easy it was to start the Husqvarna 445. Just check out the video review below for a demonstration. There is a simple start mechanism, priming pump, and kill switch. Even after a long winter of not being used, this baby started right up for me without any problem. For people accustomed to finicky chainsaws, the Rancher 445 will be a welcome relief.
Can Handle Anything: Looks may be deceiving. The Husqvarna 445 can handle even the biggest logs with ease. Filing the chainsaw teeth can give an added bite for a smoother cut, but do not attempt unless you have experience or consult someone who does.
Plenty of Torque: This chainsaw has a good amount of torque and it is actually quite surprising how much power this machine has. There is nothing "cheap" about this chainsaw when it comes to power.
Fuel Efficient: I know some professional users really dislike the fuel efficiency standards placed on chainsaws and the like, but in this case I really enjoyed not having a gas guzzler on my hands. With rising fuel costs, this should be a concern for most people on a budget.
Reliability: I have owned this chainsaw for over three years without any problems. I use it on a heavy to moderate basis as well so I don't go easy on it. I have kept it well oiled, serviced, and maintained, but that should be expected.
CONS
To get optimal performance from your Rancher 445 it is important to read the manual to understand its full functionality. Most of the problems users encounter is when they manually adjust settings without experience. The warranty also can be voided when the EPA fuel efficiency standards are tinkered with. That said, if you would like to optimize your settings, talk to a local machine shop expert to get their opinion. They are generally a wealth of information on how to get the most out of your chainsaw.
