LEGO 7929 - Battle Of Naboo

If you want to increase the size of your Battle Droid army then this set is a must with ten of these minifigures supplied. The two Gungans are also extremely good and the soldier's shield is one of the coolest accessories around. The inclusion of a nicely designed vehicle makes this set one of the best available.

Both collectors of Star Wars LEGO and those that actually play with these toys will love this set as it combines lots of minifigures, a nice vehicle and excellent playability.

What"s Cool

• Jar Jar's redesigned head piece is excellent with long ears and bug eyes on top of his head.
• The color scheme of the head is great, with lots of detail.
• Jar Jar's head is unique and can be recognized from the other Gungans.
• The body printing is unique, among the Gungans, to Jar Jar.

What's Not Cool

• Jar Jar does not have a cool plasma shield.
• The plasma weapons are not a specially molded piece.

What's Cool

• The color scheme of the head piece is nice and contains a lot of detail. It also makes the soldier different to Jar Jar Binks.
• The Gungan Soldier's shield is the coolest thing in this set. It is a clear, purple piece which looks just like the Gungan's plasma shields in the movie.
• Printing on the body makes him look like a man of action and is different to Jar Jar's torso.

What's Not Cool

• The soldiers weapon is a bit feeble. It would be better if it was a specially molded piece.
• There is only 1 Gungan soldier. Surely another one would have allowed a bit more of a battle?

What's Cool

• You get a whopping ten of these Battle Droids in this set, enough to assemble a decent fighting force.
• All the Droids are armed with blaster guns.
• These look just like the Battle Droids in the movies.

What's Not Cool

• The Battle Droids and Pilot Droids only differ in the color of their torsos.

The Republic Droid Transporter is a really nicely designed Star Wars LEGO vehicle to go with this set. It has some unusual colored bricks, used in an effective color scheme and has some really nice parts such as skis on the bottom.

The Battle Droid storage section is well designed and detaches readily for Droid deployment.

Overall this is a fairly easy but interesting vehicle to build and it looks really good when completed.

Two small negative points are that the light on the front of the transporter is pretty fragile and the space in which to place the Pilot Droid driving the vehicle is small and makes it difficult to get him in.

These two small issues aside this is an excellent Star Wars LEGO vehicle to go with your twelve minifigures.
