One of 15 Foods Excellent for Kidney Health: Apples
Information, tips and recipes for adding apples to your kidney-friendly diet. An apple a day really does keep the doctor away!
How I Use Apples
and will continue to do for optimum health!
- grab and eat
- cut in quarters and remove core and seeds
- cut into quarters and then each quarter into two slices and spread with peanut butter
- chop and put in tossed salad
- baked apple with cinnamon, raisins and bit of brown sugar
I also like apple chips and dried apples for a snack.
Apples have always been my favourite and something that my father and I shared.
Whenever he was in the hospital (which he was quite often with this illness and other complications) I would tell my mom to go get him the biggest, juiciest apple she could find and bring it to him from me. He'd know then that I was thinking of him and worrying about him. ;)
I also eat applesauce...not homemade though I probably should learn to make it but, snack packs. I also like the pomegranate- and cranberry-apple mixes.
I will continue eating apples in whatever way I enjoy them because not only do I know they are good for me but also I LOVE them anyway!!
