Peach Dresses for Bridesmaids, Proms and Parties
by WordCustard
Peach is a flattering color that gives an outfit warmth and elegance. Choose a peach dress for a special occasion or a summer party.
Be Pretty in Peach
Peach is a gorgeous shade that is more subtle and refined than its close-cousin orange, and is just as feminine as pink without being childish.
Brides often find peach dresses are perfect for their bridesmaids, suiting a wide range of complexions and also blending well with her own dress and most wedding decor and flowers.
However, it's not just for weddings and is ideal for parties and special occasions, especially during the warmer months.
Shades that go well with peach include gold, cream, ivory, and chocolate. Turquoise creates a strong contrast with peach if you want to make a statement.

Does Peach Suit You?
One important question to ask yourself, naturally, is whether a peach dress will show you off to your best advantage.
You may remember a craze years ago for finding out what 'season' described your coloring and the shades that suited you. I've seen this advice creeping back in to fashion consultations. And with good reason. The simple truth is that we all have different skin tones, hair and eye colors and what suits one woman may look completely wrong on another, even if they are related.
The good news about peach is that it is a warm shade that is perfect for Spring and Autumn season coloring. (Don't know your season? Visit Color Me Beautiful: Find My Season.)
If on the other hand you are a Summer or Winter, you look your best in cool tones. You can still wear a peach dress if you accessorize it carefully, but Summers may prefer pink or lavender. For a winter, icy tones are more flattering but if it has to be peach then try teaming it with a white jacket or shrug.
Shades of Peach
Dress designers work in an industry where being different gets you noticed. They don't always use the color names you might use to describe a fabric.
For example, that gorgeous Mother of the Bride gown above is described as 'cinnamon'. So it's useful to know what other terms can be used to describe a dress that you or I might call peach.
This Betsey Johnson dress (top) has been described as blush.
That probably means its closer to pink than to orange tones.
Doesn't it look gorgeous with that vivid belt?
The beaded evening dress in the middle is the perfect style for a summer wedding or prom.
While I'd describe this silk dress as peach, the manufacturers describe it as mandarin.
The ball gown from Fairytailes at the bottom is officially described as salmon.
I've also spotted gorgeous dark peach dresses in the orange section though I bet most of us wouldn't look there for our peach dress.

Accessorize your beautiful peach dress with gold jewelry (it will work better than silver). Gold shoes and a gold purse will also look great.
A deep shade of coral is also a fantastic choice for accessorizing a peach outfit.
If you need an extra layer for warmth, try a dressy cardigan or jacket in cream -- peaches and cream is a classic combination and lovely for summer and for weddings!

I dropped by again because my daughter has just got married and the bridesmaids dresses were lovely although not peach. I have a Wizzley on it all in case any one is interested and feel free to ignore this comment as I'm doing a bit of self promoting. My apologies.
I love those dresses
Lovely!
I like the peach colors; but I don't wear them much. These are beautiful though.
Peach, and it's various shades, would be beautiful to wear at a beach wedding also.
