Review of Ronzoni Smart Taste Spaghetti Pasta

My wife recently started a new diet and, even though I, myself, try to avoid fads like that personally, I have done my best to be supportive. This includes eating some of the "healthier" dinner options she has prepared as part of that diet.

Earlier this week, however, I found my support tested a bit when she purchased Ronzoni Smart Taste Spaghetti Pasta as a substitute for the spaghetti pasta we normally use. While I wasn't necessarily opposed to this, I have had similar products in the past and was less than impressed with them. And, when she made this pasta, I was fully expecting the same result. As it turns out, however, I was pleasantly surprised.

The thing that really surprised me about this pasta was, unlike the others I've had that were similar, there wasn't a significant taste difference between it and the spaghetti pasta we normally use. In fact, once I added pasta sauce to the spaghetti, I really couldn't tell the difference.

In fact, my daughters, who are picky enough to notice even the slightest change, didn't seem to notice the switch. My youngest daughter even had seconds of the pasta and asked to have some of the leftovers for dinner last night. That really says something about the flavor, in my opinion at least.

Another thing that surprised me about this pasta was just how filling it was. I normally end up having two servings. But, this time around (and this was, admittedly, partly because we had some other items to go with it), I was pretty much satisfied after the first serving and only got a small amount the second time around. Since I wasn't there when my wife purchased this, I'm not sure what she spent on it. However, the fact it fills you up with a smaller amount does add some value to that purchase regardless.

I'm not sure if this is a product I would buy on a regular basis. However, after trying it, I would have no issues eating this pasta again. If you can find it at a good price, it's worth trying.
