Product Description: Boxed meal kit with teriyaki sauce, rice, carrots and peas. The contents of the box are added to frozen chicken breast then baked in the oven for approximately 50 minutes. I purchased this dinner kit at one of our local grocery stores for $1.50. My wife wound up using it last night when she made dinner.

Review
I came across this item last month while doing some other grocery shopping before heading into the office. I was a little skeptical about it. But, I thought the $1.50 price tag was low enough to justify making the purchase and giving it a try.
My wife did just that yesterday evening, while I was at the skating rink with both of my daughters. After having it for dinner last night, I have to say I really wasn't that impressed with this product.
This, to be honest, wasn't that much of a surprise because my wife was keeping me updated as she used the boxed kit and, from her description, it was pretty obvious it wasn't going to turn out anywhere near what the photo on the box indicated. For example, when she tried to add the teriyaki sauce to the frozen chicken breasts (as described in the instructions), the sauce simply slid off of the meat and wound up soaking into the rice instead.
The end result was a chicken dinner that really didn't taste anything like teriyaki chicken. And, even the rice really didn't benefit from the sauce all that much since it sort of clumped up. Some rice had the sauce as a result while the rest of it was kind of plain.
The vegetables that came with the rice and sauce were also lacking. It was pretty obvious they were dehydrated because, even with my wife following the instructions to the letter (something she's good at), they were still dry and crunchy. As a result of this, while the dinner was edible, it wasn't anything overly memorable either.
I will say one positive thing about this dinner kit, it did make a decent-sized quantity. We were able to have seconds and there was still some leftover for lunch. So, while the quality didn't live up to expectations, it did have that going for it.

Final Opinion
The meal kit was cheap so, in this case, I can say I got what I paid for. But, I just wasn't impressed with this product and don't see myself buying it again.

Oops! The product and your article clearly answer my question below, meant for a similar product I viewed alongside, at the same time, elsewhere for comparison as to which brand was preferable.
I meant to ask if it would have helped to heat the meat first and the sauce and the vegetables separately and then everything together? That sometimes works for me for similarly problematic frozens and leftovers that I wish to respectively try and not throw out.
StevenHelmer, Thank you for pictures, practicalities and product.
What kind of vegetables did the kit include?
