Review of the Presto Pizzazz Plus Rotating Pizza Oven

by StevenHelmer

My wife and I purchased this as an early Christmas gift for ourselves. Read to find out why I recommend it.

Product Description: Pizza oven from the Presto Pizzazz brand that cooks frozen (and other) pizzas by rotating them between two heating elements. My wife and I purchased this pizza oven (our second from this brand) at one of our local department stores last month and have used it on a regular basis.

Review

My wife and I, as we usually do, did our Black Friday shopping last month. However, before even looking for Christmas gifts, the first thing we did was put one of these pizza ovens in the cart for ourselves.

This is not the first Presto Pizzazz pizza oven we have owned. We actually had one of the original models for more than 10 years before it finally reached a point where it needed to be replaced. And, while this would have been the perfect item to put on our Christmas list, we realized we just could not wait for someone else to buy it for us.

Because of our hectic schedules, we end up having frozen pizza almost every week simply because it is convenient. The Pizzazz pizza oven made it much more convenient and the newest model definitely continues that tradition.

Prior to our first Pizzazz oven (which we won at a Christmas party), we either made frozen pizza in our conventional oven or in our old pizza oven. The former wasn't overly convenient because we typically have to wait 15 minutes for it to preheat. The latter worked OK, but it was hard to tell if the pizza was getting done or not. Plus, it was one of those ovens that had a sliding shelf and, occasionally, the pizza would fall off of that shelf, making a big mess.

The Pizzazz Plus oven works perfectly for us every time. There's no need to preheat it, we can see the pizza as it cooks (making it easier to avoid burning it) and the design allows us to avoid "losing" a pizza.

In addition, the pizzas cook much more evenly than they do in a regular pizza oven or even a conventional oven. This is both because the heat is evenly distributed and because you can adjust, with the flick of a switch, where the heat is coming from. If the cheese is melted but the crust isn't completely done, for example, you can turn off the heat from the top and cook it from the bottom or vice versa.

Another thing we like about this oven is it can be used for more than just pizza. We've cooked wings and other appetizers on it as well and, now that we have a new one, are looking at other recipes we can try. In other words, we are definitely getting our money's worth.

Final Opinion

If you need a pizza oven, this is the one I would recommend. As I mentioned before, we owned our first for more than 10 years and, when it finally needed to be replaced, we found we couldn't live without it.

You do get your money's worth out of them. I never thought the first one would last us as long as it did and, if you use it for more than pizza, it makes it easier to justify the purchase.

This is something that I've wanted to get ever since I saw your first one, but since it really isn't a necessity I haven't been able to put the money out for one...I'm glad that you are enjoying your new one...maybe one day I will be able to pick one up also. Thanks for the review.
