It's pretty simple to set up out the box and comes with two wrenches and two 5" blades. The motor is 1.2 amps, which puts out between 500 and 1700 rpm - ample enough. The throat is 16", which gives decent results on thicker projects.
This is a mid-priced scroll saw and is a good quality model for hobbyists, toy make, small detailed work and more. In short - it's a pretty adequate all-rounder. It comes with the usual features you can expect from a model of this price - precision quality cuts, low vibration, not overly noisy. User friendly, easy to set up and the dust hoover works pretty good.
If you want to buy a cheap scroll saw to get started with - this is the best choice in the budget price range. It's fairly lightweight as scroll saws go and nothing about it is difficult to work or set up. You get a variable bevel, up to a 45º angle and reasonably good dust remover. The motor is 1.2 amps and it delivers a nicely rounded 500 to 1700 rpm's.
This is as good as it gets when it comes to a mini scroll saw - the Dremel. Strictly speaking, this little powerhouse performs across a broad range of tasks and if you want super-fine precision, simply purchase the appropriate cutting-tool accessory kit. The Dremel does a bit of everything and as it's performance as a mini scroll saw is impressive enough.
