Silliest Craft Projects

I was somewhat shocked and somewhat repelled by the concept of a purse made out of an old bra. I found instructions for the  everyday purse as well as the fancy evening purse. Apparently,by the comments on the page, I wasn’t the only one somewhat skeptical of the propriety of carrying such an accessory in public. I have to say, I probably won’t be making this item.

Recycling is a good thing, usually. This may be crossing the line to silliness. I can’t imagine who would have come up with the idea for a coin purse made out of a juice wrapper. I suppose I should applaud the attempt to make something out of something normally thrown away. That’s how great inventions come about I guess.

Now I have a confession to make. I need a coin purse and I might give this one a try.

Here’s another one that really is a strange concept. In all honesty though, the people putting these up online know they are silly. Sometimes they are touted as gag gifts  It has become such a fad that there are even people making them and selling them on Etsy.

I can’t imagine that maxi pads as footwear is going to be all that durable.If I had some pads, I just might have to try it and see.

This item, a lace wrapped clothes hanger doesn’t look at all ridiculous. It’s an old tradition to pad and cover hangers. Padded hangers are noted for keeping the shoulders of the clothes from stretching out. And adding a potpourri pouch to it makes your clothes smell good. Unfortunately, my first thought was that a person doing this version of a hanger just had way too much time on his or her hands. There is no padding to save the clothes or any place to put some potpourri. It’s just a lacy hanger.

Making things from duct tape has become very popular lately. It’s a fad that has taken off with duct tape shoes, duct tape purses, and my pick for the silliest, a duct tape mini skirt. I can’t even imagine that clothing made of duct tape could be comfortable. It has become such a popular craft that couples attending their high school proms are making their own clothes out of duct tape.
