This is the best 20lb sledgehammer - and the best selling product in the category. The fiber glass handle is awesome, a big change from a wooded shaft and the combination of the drop forged head and solid connection between the handle and hammer makes for one very destructive hammer.

Although you can swing it through a wide arc, there's no real need. It's heavy enough to do what you need of it simply by using the weight. 20lbs is enough to smash, trash and crash through most materials and when you let it rip you'll be surprised by the lack of bounce-back. Impressive, superior standard overall - just under 50 bucks and built to last.

This is the best compact sledgehammer and it comes in two options - 3 and 4 lbs. This one's the 3 pounder, the head is a solid lump of tempered, chamfered steel and for its size it packs a mighty punch.

It's beyond solid, despite the awkward looking shape and the balance you get is surprising. The grip is great - the cushion rubber grip around the center of the shaft does it's job well. Rugged, frighteningly good - the kind of tool you start finding jobs for. Bash it, crush it, pull it apart - it really does do the lot. Awesome hammer - buy it. You won't be disappointed.

This is the best 16lb sledgehammer and it's manufactured by the same company as the first featured product - Graintex. It shares pretty much the same quality construction - solid fiber glass handle, 36" in length, a steel drop forged head and the no nonsense attitude when you set to work with it.

It swings well despite the weight - the handle works in harmony and the lack of bounce back certainly takes a lot of strain off your arms and shoulders. It will rip through wood, stone, metal, drive wedges in without issue and out perform a range of similar sized 16 pounders. The best in its class.
