Under Construction: Coming Soon in a Theme Park Close to You

by MikeRobbers

A number of new attractions have been scheduled for construction at some of the world’s top theme parks. Let’s check on four of the most anticipated ones.

As much as we like something, we will never stop to crave for something else or some brand new certain something. Gladly for us, and especially when it comes to entertainment and the choices we have, we usually get something extra, something new every once in a while. Theme parks around the world are always on the move for change; a number of new developments are being announced as we speak with the fans looking forward for the time when they will be able to enjoy new attractions based on things we love.
There are plenty of new attractions under construction in various theme parks at the moment. I will present four of them that seem to be the more anticipated. When it comes to Harry Potter, Star Wars, Avatar and Ratatouille it only makes sense for people to be impatient.

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Diagon Alley

We see a lot of Harry Potter in theme parks around the world. It seems that even if we still love Mickey and the rest of the Disney characters, we are also keen on new popular culture icons. The Harry Potter attraction in Universal Orlando, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is expected to grow significantly with the addition of the Diagon Alley. While the old attraction is based on Hogsmeade, the newest part will be dedicated to the streets that lead to the world of Harry Potter, namely the Diagon Alley. What is more than this, there is also a train coming! The Hogwarts Express will unite these two areas, just as it is written in the book! Fascinating, to state just the least!

Avatar Land

Avatar Land, Animal Kingdom
Avatar Land, Animal Kingdom

James Cameron’s film is the most successful movie at the box office in all times with… $2.7 billion! That said, it’s no wonder that Avatar Land is on its way. Scheduled to be opened in 2016 in Animal Kingdom of the Walt Disney World, this unique attraction will include a 3D ride around the wonderful world of Pandora. James Cameron himself will provide creative assistance in what it is considered to be one of the most anticipated attractions in a theme park ever. Till that time comes, of course, you can still book your DisneyWorld tickets by FloridaTix and then enjoy yourself in one of the best theme parks of the world.

Star Wars Land

I’m not entirely sure that Star Wars has the same appeal to people less than 25 years old today as it had when I was still a kid. However, I do take for granted the fact that millions of fans over 25 are surely looking forward for the next installment of the movie franchise coming two years from now. There have been rumors about a Star Wars Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World. We don’t know much yet, but something tells me that the day that the “Star Wars: Episode 7” will be out at the cinemas, Disney might feel the urge to capitalize on it by offering to the fans something more, something new other than the Star Tours it already hosts in its theme parks. We only have to wait and see…

Ratatouille Kitchen Calamity

Ratatouille
Ratatouille

Pixar’s film “Ratatouille” was met with enthusiasm, as it happened for most of the company’s films more or less. One of the sweetest… rats you will ever meet, Ratatouille will see its own trackless dark ride coming up next summer at the Walt Disney Studios Park in Paris. It is estimated to cost around 120-150 million dollars, but something tells me that this big investment might be a safe one, given the popularity of the Oscar winning film. Ratatouille Kitchen Calamity will be made with the use of the latest technology and will feature trackless ride vehicles. It already sounds like a lot of fun! Enjoy!

MikeRobbers, Do you know which of the newest developments is doing the best? For me, it's always enticing to include train rides.

I am one of those odd balls who have never gone to Disney World or Disneyland. I wonder whether these attractions will entice me.

@WriterArtist: Hope to make that dream come true one day! Thanks!

It is my dream to roam around the Diagon alley and board the Hogwarts express. Of all Harry Potter movies - I enjoyed the first one the most. It was like an imagination taking shape and the story was beautifully showcased in the movie.
