The principles of feng shui worked 6000 years ago and still work today!
Although there are differing schools of thoughts, generally speaking, Feng Shui is an ancient Chinese art or practice, believed to utilize the laws of both heaven (astronomy, NOT astrology), and earth (geography).
- Feng means wind.
- Shui means water.
The purpose of Feng Shui is to bring balance and harmony to the place where you live or work. Hence, in today's popular vernacular it could be categorized as "eco-friendly". It is so very easy to bring feng shui into your life.
Feng shui techniques and principles can be applied to the design and layout of any area: a small apartment, a single family home, an office cubicle, etc.

Thank you for revisiting Emma. I really do like this Wizzle.
@WriterArtist - Yes that was my intent. I think these gifts make excellent wedding and anniversary gifts, in particular. They add wonderment and peace to the environment and when you're married you need a lot of that! :)
You have showcased some beautiful Feng Shui gift ideas - they are awesome.
@Tolovaj - We live in apartments and our neighbors have chimes. I like the sound of them. You really only hear them when the wind has a gentle breeze and when I go outside. I never hear anything when I'm in the house.
{ LOL. How can I? My husband's music and videos drown everything out! :) Especially the Indian videos. http://youtu.be/m_4lF320DfQ}
I don't know much about feng shui but I like the logic behind it. 'Get rid of clutter!' is certainly one of them. But I do find chimes haning outside annoying sometimes. I see (and hear) them on balconies where they make noise and annoy neighbors. This has nothing to do with feng shui in my opinion. Living in harmony should never interfere with neighbors.
@VioletteRose - Thank you for visiting. I enjoy your Wizzles.
Very informative article on Feng shui. I love wind chimes, I had a very nice one which is now broken. I still have it.
@Rose - They really are. Thanks for visiting!
I want some wind-chimes too! They sound so peaceful!
