Best Vegan Cookbooks 2023

Cookbooks that embrace the vegan lifestyle with recipes that will delight the palete.

Have you decided to change your lifestyle and eating habits by choosing to become a Vegan? Perhaps there is someone on your gift list who is now a vegan and you are looking for a gift for them. There was a time when Vegan cookbooks were few and far between but now there are many to choose from. It is amazing the different meals that you can now prepare and still stay within the guidelines of being vegan. Your meals no longer have to be just a plate of vegetables.

Let me share some wonderful choices of cookbooks available that offer some delightful vegan recipes.

Fiber Fueled Cookbook

My favorite vegan cookbook so far

I used covid-19 lockdowns to finally shift to healthy eating. I started trying out Keto, but my research quickly moved to the whole-plant-food community. In other words: healthy (no or few processed foods) veganism.

I feel better on this diet than I have in decades. And the only vitamin you need to supplement is B12 - and realising that cows get their B12 from supplements as well, made that choice relatively easy.

But I also found, in chatting online and personal conversations that moving to a plant based diet isn't as easy as it sounds: many people experience bloating, abdominal discomfort, food sensitivities, blood in their stool etc.

The Fiber Fueled Cookbook addresses all that.

In addition it's the first vegan cookbook I came across that actually contains the sort of recipes I want to cook when I have guests.

So this is a huge recommendation.

A Cookbook By Vegan Chefs

I would almost consider the two authors of this cookbook on the right as the dynamic duo of vegan cooking. These ladies offer over 250 recipes that are so very delicious. I love what one reviewer said about the meals were so good that a carnivore would be happy to dine without meat in the meal!

You will find that the recipes are not using meat or egg substitutes and cover each meal of the day. There are also special meals for holidays and options are given for gluten free, soy free and low fat ingredients.

All of the meals have been tested in a kitchen to make sure that they can be easily prepared by any cook. The color photographs are just spectacular and make your mouth water just looking at them.

This cookbook makes a nice addition to your kitchen and is a perfect gift for anyone who wants to live a vegan lifestyle.

Need To Fix It Quick?

So many of us have such busy lives that we have little time to cook a meal for ourselves. Am I right? We need meals that can be fixed quickly and still be nutritious and most importantly have some good tasting ingredients.

Robin Robertson has given us just the way to do that with her cookbook featuring easy and quick recipes for vegans. She offers about 150 meals in her book that will delight your taste buds without taking up too much time in the kitchen.

Another feature that I like about this book is that there is very little usage of "pretend" meats in the recipes.

What does the vegan eat?

When embracing a vegan lifestyle, one decides that they will not use animal products and that includes the foods that they consume. Their diet will be from plant foods only with no consumption of meats, dairy, poultry, fish or any of the products from these animals like eggs or even honey.

Vegan Cooking Does Not Have To Be Expensive

Finally, a cookbook that offers meals that do not cost your entire food budget for the week to make! Have you ever had that happen to you? You see a recipe and it looks scrumptious and by the time you have purchased all of the ingredients the cost of preparing it was so expensive you had a difficult time enjoying eating it.

The cookbook at the right is another one by the popular author Robin Robertson. She gives about 150 recipes using plant based ingredients that cost less than $2 to make. She gives tips on cooking in bulk and using leftovers to make additional meals that save you money.

You will find stews and soups along with salads and there is even a section for desserts!

Trusted For Decades For Her Recipes

I think most Americans grew up with a Betty Crocker cookbook in the kitchen. Betty has payed attention to the changes in our diets and knows that many families have decided to dine on plant based foods and have left eating meats and animal products to the past.

Now there is a vegan cookbook from Betty Crocker. The recipes are inspired by some of the classics that were included in the older books but have been revised to use on the products that are acceptable to families who have adopted a vegan lifestyle.

The book contains over 500 meals to prepare from breakfast foods to special dinners.

For The Sweet Tooth

Well, not all baked goods are sweet but normally when we think of baking we envision cookies, cakes, pies and those sweet dishes that end our meals. A cookbook that helps create those wonderful treats is great to have in your kitchen or to give as a gift to your friends.

Some might contend that you just can't make baked goods without using dairy and eggs but they would be incorrect in their contention. The book to the right gives over 150 recipes for baked goods that are absolutely delicious and are made for vegan families to enjoy.
