Wedding Cards for Christian Marriages

by JoHarrington

Christian wedding card messages would be a lovely touch for a couple embarking upon a Jesus centered marriage. Check out what Christian wedding cards are available.

For couples exchanging marriage vows in a church, their union is being witnessed and blessed before God.

This is an element which can easily carry forward in the aspect and wording of Christian wedding cards presented by their guests. Regardless of whether you adhere to the same faith, it's permissible (and even welcomed) for your well wishes to be conveyed alongside Christian wedding card verses.

Your focus is upon the happy couple themselves, even while their world centers around Jesus Christ. Feel free to acknowledge that by buying marriage cards for Christian weddings. I've collected plenty here to suit all tastes!

God Centered Wedding Cards for Christians

There are three parties in a Christian marriage - bride, groom and Jesus Christ.

Three roses are entwined in this Jesus Christ centered Christian wedding card.

They represent the three way contract, brought into being when wedding vows are heard within a Christian context. Two of the blooms denote the couple themselves. The third is Jesus Christ, invited into their marriage as adjudicator, guide and witness.

Three Roses: Joined in Christ may be customized with the couple's names. Inside, it currently reads as an invitation to a marriage ceremony. Change that with your own Christian wedding card wording, congratulating the couple on their union.

Biblical Scene Wedding Cards for Christian Couples

Within the pages of the Bible, marriage unions are recounted. You may choose artistic depictions of these scenes for your modern day Christian marriage greeting card.

Lo Sposalizio, aka The Marriage of the Virgin, was painted by Raphael in 1504. The oil painting originally adorned the walls of a Franciscan church. Now the Pinacoteca di Brera art gallery in Milan, Italy, provides a permanent home for the priceless artwork.

Raphael's painting imagines the marriage between Mary and Joseph.

Reproduced here on a wedding card for Christians, it fixes a high benchmark for the couple! But one which they aim towards anyway. Customize the inside - currently blank - with your own verse or message.

They Danced At the Wedding At Cana is a Catholic wedding card filled with Biblical references.

John 2:1-11 tells how Jesus Christ attended a wedding in Cana (or Canna). It was here that His first miracle was performed. When the hosts ran out of wine, Mother Mary had a quick word with Her son. He took water and turned it into wine. No wonder they danced!

In addition, the border contains images drawn from the Song of Solomon.

This Bible based wedding card for Christians is currently blank within. Customize it with your own Christian marriage card message.

Christian Wedding Card Verses

With so much about love in the Bible, it's hardly surprising that Christian verses in marriage cards abound.

There's no need to struggle with the wording for a Christian card for a couple getting married. St Paul already came up with the perfect verses for this particular context.

When it came to designing marriage cards for Christians, many artists found their inspiration in 1 Corinthians 13: 4-8. The next four options all reproduce that beautiful bit of scripture.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.

~ 1 Corinthians 13: 4-8

They are not nearly the only wedding cards for Christians to repeat St Paul's words, but they are the most popular choices in the genre on Zazzle right now.

Another designer preferred what St Paul had to say in Romans 12: 9-10:

Let love be sincere: hate what is evil, hold on to what is good; love one another with mutual affection: anticipate one another in showing honor.

It's sold as a wedding card for Catholic couples, but those Christian wedding card verses feature in all versions of the Bible.

However, if you wish to buy this card for a Christian couple of another denomination, be sure to customize the inside message appropriately.

Do you have another verse of the Bible in mind? Or would you rather add a prayer in place of the scripture?

This Christian marriage card message has been kept blank - awaiting your input via customization - even as the front design heralds that a prayer will appear within.

There's an anticipation here that the prayer will be personal, or the verse most appropriate, for the Christian couple in its receipt.

However, Psalms 24 and 25 do appear, displayed upon the Bible's open pages.

Church Wedding Ceremony Christian Marriage Card

Neither verses nor prayers, but the actual Christian wedding vows exchanged here.

A wedding ring sits upon a calligraphic page from a cleric's order of service. It details those wonderful words in the Christian rites of marriage, wherein vows are made to God and their spouse.

With this ring I thee wed...

An actual ring has been artistically placed in such a way that it replaces the word 'ring'. Reality brings to life those famous sentiments.

Again the inner page is blank. You may contribute your own Christian wedding card message via the customize this button.

Wedding Rings and Crosses on Cards for Christian Couples

If we're looking for a sign of Christianity in a marriage card, what better than a cross?

Jesus Christ died upon a cross, crucified for the sake of saving humanity. Today that cross is recognized across the world as the main symbol of Christianity.  For those couples who keep Jesus Christ at the center of their marriage, then an appropriate card for Christian weddings might incorporate the cross as part of its design.

In the three Christian cards above, a pair of wedding rings are propped up by the cross in their midst.

One interpretation might be that the marriage bands represent the couple as worshipers before the towering might of Jesus Christ.  A better one would be that the rings are the marriage, with Christ as a central pillar.

They're building their marriage around Jesus Christ.

In the design displayed to the right, Christ's cross literally supports the wedding bands. Christian marriages are elevated by Jesus Christ as their foundation and center.

Marriage Cards with Christian Crosses

The wedding rings might be an affectation too far for some Christian couples. Their marriage may be congratulated with the cross alone.

Both of these scenes include the cross of Jesus Christ alongside their wedding day greeting. The Christian wedding cards' message is rendered even more overt, when you read the wording within:

Rejoice in knowing that Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. May He be your source of love and guidance as you live out the fulfillment of your marriage vows.

The Wedding Day Card for Christians on the left displays a daytime vista; that on the right is named Night Wedding Card for Christians. As the title implies, the designer had night-time Christian wedding ceremonies in mind here.

Personalized Catholic Wedding Cards with Rosary

Looking for a Christian card for a Catholic marriage? These monogram rosary wedding cards could be a perfect fit.

Not every Christian couple would recognize the rosary as symbolic of their faith, but Catholics certainly would. Beautifully rendered here in white pearls - denoting innocence and purity - a rosary is used in Catholicism to count off the prayers recounted.

Displayed in this manner, it's like those prayers now encircle the marriage in protection and blessing.

Moreover, these Catholic marriage cards aren't at all general in their focus. Inside that rosary circle, the couple's initials appear as monograms. Around the circle is the year in which this wedding took place. Further personalization for your Catholic couple's wedding card comes as their names and the date are detailed in the legend below.

While you're in there customizing all of that, add your own Catholic wedding card verse inside. All three versions of this design have left the inner part blank for your own message.

Dustytoes - Thank you very much, and you are very welcome. You have some wonderful designs there.

Ember - Rosaries are really quite beautiful, aren't they? I liked that blue and yellow fractal design best.

Nicely done Jo. Thanks for including one of mine.

Ember on 11/18/2014

Looking at the ones with the rosary surprised me. I didn't really realize that's what a rosary looked like if you laid it out... Just an interesting thing to learn.

And the two colorful ones just above the ones with the rosary are actually really pretty...but I suppose that's me liking the colorful ones more than anything else >.>

Yes, that calligraphy one is very pretty.

Christian couples could have a generic card. But I wanted to find some which really did acknowledge Christ here.

Ember on 11/18/2014

I liked the one with the calligraphy writing and the ring, it was pretty.

I came in thinking 'wouldn't any old card essentially work for a Christian wedding' as in like from a normal/typical store that sells cards... but I see how these are more fitting in ways. :)
