Beer Soap? Yep! Beer Soap -- Sold Online, Even

by Regi_B

For those who love their favorite beverage so much they want to bathe in it, there is beer soap!

Perhaps, it is kind of a first world problem, but we seem awash in ways to wash ourselves. Not that it's a bad thing! I like bathing (most days!).

I also like beer.

Honestly, given a choice, I'd much rather bathe in beer than drink soap. Think about it, people!

Marrying the idea of beer and bathing seems a good one. What do you think?

Are you interested in the concept of beer soap, or do you want to wash your hands of the whole idea? (Or, should Regi B be flogged for such punnery!)

If you dig the beer soap thing and want to learn more, please do drink in this article.

Who Makes Beer Soap?

While there are a few small companies selling soap with beer in it, the one that calls its product "Beer Soap" has the most variety of soaps available, and the most market saturation. ("Market saturation"? That phrase makes me feel like taking a bath. I can't believe I used it. Blegh!)

That company is called The Beer Soap Company. Subtle name, I know! They should have been more direct. Maybe then, people would know what they sell. (I kid, of course!)

As an appreciator of craft beers (specifically ales, but who asked me!) I really like what they have going on at The Beer Soap Co. If you have a favorite craft beer, there is a decent chance these folks have added it to soap -- soap to help you wash yourself in your favorite beer and actually come clean!

The Beer Soap Co. is a sister company to ZAJA Natural, and they have been making artisan soaps for almost a decade. Today, they manufacture over 120 varieties of beer soap. That's a lot of suds! (How many? Too many to count. Way too many.)

Beer Soap Varieties

What different concoctions has the Beer Soap Company launched to invigorate people's bathing experiences? With over 120, there have got to be some very interesting ones. Here are a few:

  • Belgian Hops Beer Soap -- made with Chimay Grande Reserve Bleu Trapiste, they left the soap unscented so you can enjoy the natural hop fragrance.
  • King Tut Shampoo/Shaving/Bath Beer Soap -- made with Pyramid Apricot Ale, a great, light fruit beer!
  • Tadcaster Beer Soap -- made with Samuel Smith Organically Produced Ale, for the "greenie" in you!
  • New England Beer Soap -- made with the excellent Sam Adams White Ale, a great smelling beer soap!

Now remember, the object is to wash in these beer soaps, not drink them. That would not be good -- no!

Thank you, Tolovaj. Yes, beer is certainly underestimated!

I always say beer is underestimated. This article is just another example to support my theory. Thumbs up!
Or shall I say: Cheers?

I'm with you, Brenda! I recall there was a brand of beer shampoo in the 70s. I think I'll do a Wizzamaroo on that, too!

I've heard of washing your hair in beer. You might as well take a bath in it.
