Best French Press Coffee Maker

by optimist

As a coffee lover, I used my french press coffee maker multiple times each day, so owning the best french press coffee maker is very important to me...

I love my coffee, and I've found that french presses consistently make great coffee.

Unlike drip coffee makers or espresso makers, french presses work on the principle of saturation of coffee grounds. This means that you can make more coffee from the same amount of grounds, and the coffee has a deeper, richer taste.

Plus, french presses are so convenient to use! I drink multiple cups of coffee during the day, and I don't want to spend time using an espresso maker or stovetop percolator. A french press is so simple and quick to use, and not to mention clean-up is so simple.

However, one of the things I hate about french presses is how easily they break! I take good care of my coffee-making implements, but even then I have glass and plastic french presses break and crack on a regular basis. My most heart-breaking moment was when a new glass french press shattered completely as I was making coffee - thankfully I was standing far away and the press was on the kitchen sink, which meant that I wasn't hurt and clean up was easier. However, I hated to see that good coffee leaking out!

Since then, I've learn my lesson and I would only ever recommend a stainless steel french press. These are durable and don't break. They may cost a bit more than the incredibly cheap french presses that are made of glass or plastic, but they will last so much longer. Not to mention, they are safer to use as well, since they won't be cracking and breaking as you use them. Like regular french press coffee makers, stainless steel coffee makers come in a number of designs and sizes. When selecting the size of your french press, I always recommend selecting a size that is slightly larger than you think you'll need - often you'll have guests over, and will need to make more coffee than you expected, and a larger french press comes in handy at those times.

Another reason stainless steel french presses are a good idea is because they are thermal and will keep your coffee warm as you make it. I have always been a fan of Bodum coffee makers and grinders, and the Bodum stainless steel french press coffee maker is no exception - in my opinion it is simply the best french press coffee maker out there. However, there are some other great french presses made of stainless steel as well. So whichever brand or design you choose, make sure it is made of stainless steel, to ensure that you stay safe and your coffee maker lasts much longer!
