by DrDarko
There is an endless production of Christmas movies and every year we see more of them. However, Meg Ryan manages to star in quite a few famous Xmas movies.
During holidays season, when family gathers around to watch Christmas movies, it is never easy to make a choice which ones are best suited for the occasion. When you have so many to choose from, selecting the right movie should not be left to chance. So, when you get tired of Rudolf the Red-nosed Reindeer, here is a small but excellent selection of Meg Ryan's really evergreen and famous movies, all of them in some way related to Christmas.
You will not be disappointed in watching any of these and some of them, you could really watch many times without ever getting tired of them.
When Harry Met Sally
This movie is deservedly listed on the American Film Institute's list of 100 top comedy movies ever. Billy Crystal as Harry and Meg Ryan as Sally are main actors and they did an excellent job here. Hey, it even includes several Christmas and New Year's Eve related scenes
Twelve years of chance encounters in New York City shows how the main characters change throughout the life and their relationships. Although the question "Can men and women ever just be friends" is present throughout the movie, the answer, as most things in life, is not so clear. A lot of late night conversations, dinners and a lot of time spent together further complicates their "friends only" relationship.
Watching this movie, you will have some great laughs and maybe even shed a few tears.

You've Got Mail
Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan star in this great movie about two lovers e-Mailing each other without ever realizing that they actually know the other person. Now, that might be great if in fact they had same feelings about the real persons as they do for their online personalities.
Joe "NY152" Fox and Kathleen "Shopgirl" Kelly fight regarding her "Shop around the corner" bookstore as Joe and Kathleen while having a successful online relationship as "NY152" and "Shopgirl."
While this may not be original plot, the movie remains great and there are some Christmas scenes in it. In the era of Facebook and online dating, this movie perfectly depicts the fact that online and real-life personalities can and do differ but not always for the worse.

Sleepless in Seattle
This romantic comedy with Tom Hanks as Sam Baldwin and Meg Ryan as Annie Reed tells the great story of love that can shake you more than you thought.
A Chicago architect loses his wife to cancer and, together with his son Jonah, moves to Seattle to start a new life. Since his son wants him to find a new wife, calls into a talk radio show on Christmas Eve and persuades Sam to go on the air and talk about how much he misses his wife. A number of women throughout the country hear the program, and touched by the story, write to Sam.
The climactic meeting on at the observation deck of the Empire State Building is one of the greatest love movie scenes that almost manage to overshadow the original reunion between Cary Grant and Deborah Kerr in An Affair to Remember.
