Hey There Forum...
My lack of chatting is that I am reminding myself why I left the awful climate of the midwest 12 years ago. As you know, I have to be here in the rv right now, for family/personal reasons. With record humidity and heat, I am on my back with a clogged nose and eyes that feel like they are going to pop, while trying to adapt to what feels like breathing underwater in Illinois "ick"...all which makes me very groggy...Montana is very dry, even in winter...cannot believe how awful I feel!
So thought I'd lift up my throbbing head and say "hi" and "still here"...now I'm laying back down.
No worries here...life is full of ups and downs, happy surprises and disappointments...appreciate your working on it.
ZZZZZZZ.......Robin

Ok, we promised to keep you updated in this matter as soon as we get a response.
We just got some clarification from VigLink regarding eBay and Walmart. These are programs where the merchant has required a manual approval of each individual publisher. Wizzley is generally approved, but sub-accounts still need manual greenlighting. VigLink says they manually approve an account for eBay as soon as they notice some click activity.
This would explain why at first you may not see revenue when you start linking out to eBay, but should start to see earnings soon after you generated your first clicks. As many of you know, eBay is keen on click quality, and although we were assured that all our publishers currently should be well within their standards it is something to keep in mind.
On the other hand, Walmart participates in 2 distinct types of affiliate programs; CPA (Cost per Action; i.e. commission when someone buys something) and CPC (Cost per Click; i.e. small revenue whenever someone clicks on a link). Wizzley (including sub-accounts) was supposed to be approved for both of their programs from the start we were told, but as it turns out we were not set up to participate in the CPA program yet.
This is supposed to have been approved now, and all we can do at this point is keep an eye on our dashboards, and submit support requests if we have reason to believe that it is not working as expected.
We're not too thrilled about this miscommunication either and apologize for any distress, but the folks over at VigLink assured us that they are always eager to investigate and resolve any issues you may come across.
I would also advise anyone who posts eBay links for the first time and doesn't see revenue after a couple of days (assuming that there has been click activity of course), to shoot them an email or support request to ensure that your account gets greenlighted right away.

Quick question - Walmart and Ebay happened to be ones I chose...but what about other big names like Target, etc...did I (with my luck) happen to finally try Viglink and focus on the ONLY two merchants, out of tons available, that have problems? Or is this something that can blanket over more merchants...just not discovered yet?
Thanks for getting back to us and for the honesty...Robin

Robin,
When you enter a merchant website into the VigLink Lookup tool, and they come back saying that "This merchant is covered, but not for everyone" it means that additional, manual approval is necessary.
VigLink assured us that Wizzley and sub-accounts should get approval in all cases, but they still need to do it manually. This is due to merchant requirements and VigLink is obligated to follow this process.
To be safe, if you plan on building links to any such merchant, it may be a good idea to let them know.

Did you query them about Janet's Shareasale issue? I'm back home now and I've discovered that they've affiliated my Shareasale links as well, although they used to say already affiliated.
I'm happy to contact them about it, I just wondered if this was something you had also discussed with them or not.

Lou - we didn't talk about Janet's issues because Janet had already written to them and was going to share their response with us.

Understand...thanks for the explanation.
On a positive, I would say that Viglink's dashboard is very easy to read and to tell if there are problems...and they were very quick to respond to my questions. Because I was new, I wasn't really looking at the dashboard yet...expecting very little. Thanks to Janet for encouraging me to do so with her post!

Janet,
That is truly odd. I emailed them after your initial post, got an immediate initial reply, a follow up. Then I asked for confirmation on a few more things and got an immediate reply. I believe 3 minimum responses in super quick time.
Just doesn't make sense? .....

They probably got back to you faster since they had an answer to your question. lol
Anyway, I heard back from them this evening:
Hi Janet,
Shareasale links are affiliating properly now, and VigLink is no longer reaffiliating your links.
Thank you for your patience as we fixed this issue, and please let me know if you experience any problems in the future.
Best regards,
Brian
At this point, I can't confirm things have been fixed. My dashboard is still showng SAS as being affiliated by VigLink. I may need to wait for more clicks to see what is going on. I will keep you posted.
On another note, my reports have not showed any earnings for Ebay for July. I have about 40 clicks and zero earnings which is very odd. Is anyone here showing Ebay earnings on their dashboard for July?

I don't have any ebay earnings - but I don't have one penny in earnings to date, either (probably because most of my clicks weren't getting credited?).
I really hope someone using Ebay via Viglink will post if they have made money from Ebay links...or should we start a new thread on this one? I worry about this one the most, because I purposely put Ebay products up that have value and I just am not comfortable doing that further until I see some monetization.
Anyone using Viglink/Ebay modules getting income??

I have been earning pretty well with VigLink/Ebay up until July. For July I have over 40 clicks and zero earnings. Not sure if there is some kind of reporting delay or if I am suddenly earnings zero cents a click. I think I will conact them.

I don't have any eBay earnings showing after June 29th. I've had daily revenue for ages. Either a reporting or tracking issue.

I have also submitted a support request to investigate the issue. It appears to be a reporting delay, but will let you know if it's anything else.

I've had no ebay sales showing up since the 29th either and I had been getting money practically every day from them.
I've had the 'trouble loading stats' message a few times over the last couple of days so I've assumed they've had reporting issues.
@Janet - thanks for posting your reply from them as soon as I read that I checked the dashboard and it looks like it's been fixed for me too - one less thing to add to my to do list

Hey Nightowl, can I ask you a question... Why don't you guys just separate eBay like you did Amazon where we can sign up and use our own ebay merchant account, then we wouldn't have to share click revenue or worry about it with viglink from the ebay module other than links as it is with amazon, is there a reason you can't do both (viglink for hyperlinks and module separate from viglink using ebay partner network? I can't say I much like the idea of eBay being only available in the viglink site, I miss the old way. HP did it somehow and it worked out great.
I made a killing on HP from click pennies and sales but here we have to share with a middle man that's not necessary :) it seems moot to use viglink for ebay modules, should just be links, can't you just do it that way and we keep all the income from our ebay purchase and clicks (and you on your shares of course)?

Jerrico, that would have been our preference as well, but eBay did not approve. We've tried talking to them several times to no avail. They're not exactly forthcoming.
As it stands, VigLink is our only way to offer eBay at all, so we're grateful for what we have at the moment.

thanks anyway, maybe it's about the site being a bit new, because I can't imagine they'd let a site like HP do it and not Wizzley unless it's about stats... owell thanks for trying (before) anyway. I too am grateful that we at least have viglink to use. I tend to like Amazon modules better anyway as we can control the actual products that statically stay on the page I just liked eBay's pay per click option...

Another update from VigLink:
Previously, Shareasale was registered in our system as a merchant, meaning those links would either affiliate or show up as already-affiliated. We have removed this classification so that now, any links to Shareasale will show up as generic links that can't be affiliated. They won't be affected by the VigLink API, and you will maintain your original affiliation.
