Great Live Performances by Ke$ha

by Cecelia

A list of some great live performances by pop singer Ke$ha. Includes some before she was famous performances.

Kesha Rose Sebert is finally back after what seemed like a long break between albums. Her debut album Animal sold more than 3 million copies. Her sophomore album Warrior was released on December 4, 2012. Her stripped down EP called Deconstructed is now available for download on and iTunes.

Ke$ha wrote a short memoir called My Crazy Beautiful Life that's filled with pictures of her childhood, family, friends and concerts. She has also worked on a documentary of the same name airing on MTV at the end of April. She will also be going on tour in the United States and Europe this summer. Check here for a list of her summer 2013 tour dates. So, Kesha fans have a lot to look forward to.

Many people think Ke$ha can't sing but she's actually an amazing live performer despite the fact that her style of music isn't easy to do live. It isn't always easy to find high quality video and audio of her live performances. These are some performances from her that I really like that have decent to excellent quality.

Hearts on Fire

This performance of Hearts on Fire is from 2007, two years before the release of Tik Tok. It features her older brother Lagan. Hearts on Fire was written by Kesha and Lagan.

Honkey Tonk

This is another song from the same Nashville bar as the Hearts on Fire performance. Lagan Sebert does most of the singing but Kesha's parts are amazing.

You're the Reason Our Kids Are Ugly

Ke$ha appeared on stage as a guest performer at a Ben Folds Five concert at the Ryman in her hometown Nashville in September 2012. She sang this duet with Wayne Coyne of The Flaming Lips.

Animal is one of my favorite Ke$ha songs and one she sings really well live. This song is the title track to her debut album. This is a performance from the Conan O'Brien show. The song clearly means a lot to her because she is so emotional when she sings it.

Take It Off

This is a really good performance of Take It Off from the Today Show in 2010.

Ke$ha often uses equipment for vocal effects on stage. In this performance, the synthesizer ran low in batteries, so she had to do the song using her natural voice. This was a good thing because it sounded far better without the effects.

The Harold Song

This is a beautiful song but it's hard to find versions with good audio quality. This MTV World Stage is the only live version I've found so far with good audio.

Tik Tok

This is my favorite live performance of Tik Tok. She was at the Much Music Awards in 2010.

Die Young

This is Ke$ha's critically acclaimed performance of Die Young from the 2012 American Music Awards (AMA).

Ke$ha performed an acoustic version of C'mon on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon. This version is so much better than the original. You can hear her country music roots seeping through.
