Hats for Halloween

by Ragtimelil

There are many hats out there for Halloween, but not all hats are alike. I've researched hats and here are some of the best.

I have searched through 50 pages of Halloween hats to bring you only the finest. Of course, this is just my opinion. If you want to wear a hot dog, or a frog on your head, go right ahead. There are plenty of them out there.
I'm partial to hats that I possibly, maybe would wear for when it's not Halloween. I might be considered a bit eccentric, but that's another story.

Professor McGonagall Hat

There are plenty of Harry Potter movie hats out there, but this one is especially nice and well made with a satin lining and a little pocket to put the feathers in. It is a licensed product and faithfully reproduces the hat that Professor McGonagall wears in The Sorcerer's Stone and Chamber of Secrets. She wears other hats in some of the other movies but this one is particularly recognized.

You may have noticed in the introduction thumbnail that I'm partial to tall black hats.

Swashbuckler's Hat

It's hard to find a good swashbuckler's hat these days. This one came with a good rating and lace trim with a satin bow. The hat itself is polyester and can be hand washed. It's shipped flat so you have to shape it to the way you want it. The trim can be replaced with one to match your outfit if you desire.

It sports velcro straps on the sides to make it easy to change the shape of the hat. It comes with one red and one black ostrich feather.

Renaissance Hat

This hat is just cool. You could wear it while painting, around town or to the next renaissance faire. I'm told that in renaissance times, anyone over the age of 12 was required to wear a hat. The hat indicated the status of the wearer. The beret was one of the first hats to denote conspicuous wealth.

This floppy back felt hat comes with an elastic band in the back for a good fit for any hat size.

Chicken Hat

Yes, it's a chicken hat. Who can resist a chicken hat? This one is particularly nice in that you can wear in on your head, or pull it down and look through the eye holes as a mask. Personally, I would keep my face covered at all times.

This delightful red, yellow and white hat is 100% polyester, a thick, light and soft material, and fits most sizes from child to adult up to XL. It comes with and elastic strap to make it adjustable. The crown measures 6 inches deep and is lined. Chicken measures 14 x 17 inches and is hand washable.

Milk Carton Hat

This hat is so ridiculous, I don't even know what I can say about it. It's a one size, fits all model of a carton of milk with a hole for the face cut out just under the print that says,"Missing." All I can say is, have you checked the local tavern?

This is the perfect headgear if you are trying to make a point.

Maleficent Headgear

If you're feeling somewhat wicked, you can don this headgear of the evil queen, Maleficent. It's well made from shiny velvet with dark purple trim and It features a velcro-elastric band to keep it securely on your head.

Anyone familiar with Sleeping Beauty will recognize this character. You can add a little green makeup and a cape and you're all set. Not recommended for movie theaters, concerts, any place where there's someone seated behind you. Licensed by Disney.

These are all great hats! I was giggling at the milk carton hat and the chicken hat, but would personally choose the Prof McGonagall hat just because I'm such a Harry Potter fan.

I had a friend who used to make them and sell them at craft fairs. It takes the right person to wear one. (not just for Halloween....)
