The American Civil War was a turning point in our country. It pitted brother against brother and effected the lives of every American of that time. It changed America and the way we now live. We need to remember and respect this part of our history.
We are losing about 1 acre of Civil War battlefield land every day. This is history that can never be reclaimed.
For the 150th Anniversary of the Civil War, consider donating $1.50 to help protect Civil War battlefields throughout our country. History.com started the Give150 Campaign which contributes to money to the Civil War Trust, and The National Park Foundation. These organizations continually work to preserve history.

History of every country determines its nation. American history is so important because if we, even if we are not Americans, know more about it, will be able to understand USA's actions in its foreign policy and will understand more about overall world situation.
The whole legacy of the US Civil War is important...
I just wrote the book about a unique US Army Post - "Images of America - Fort Myer" with origins during the US Civil War when it was known as Fort Whipple.
I agree that we have to preserve history and learn from it! It is a great idea.
Great project!
Indeed it is so important that we preserve these battlefields for future generations. And $1.50 is not too much to ask of most people. I hope this effort will be a huge success!
