Hermione Granger Halloween Costume Accessories for 2012

This Time Turner featured in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. It's a beautiful rendering of the object that helped Hermione attend double classes but to also save Harry's godfather Sirius Black and Buckbeak. It symbolizes Hermione's academic prowess as well as the fight for what is good and fair. A theme that runs through the Harry Potter books. 

This is an accessory that can be kept beyond Halloween. One word of warning though. It's fragile. So care needs to be taken on Halloween night. This means it's not a good choice for a younger child who might be rough with it. 

This is an obvious accessory for a Hermione costume but it's an essential. It's a fun idea is to memorize a few simple spells from the Harry Potter series so the wand can be an integrated part of the costume and not just held as decoration too. 

This wand is one of the cheaper wands available so it's good for a younger Harry Potter fan. Amazon does have a selection of Hermione wands in different price ranges though. So you can also choose one that's less of a basic costume accessory and more of a keepsake if you want. 

I flipped when I found this really gorgeous replica of Hermione's bag from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. This bag is a really creative costume accessory. it also symbolizes Hermione's ability to plan ahead, expect the unexpected and her general cleverness. Although the bag doesn't have an expansion charm on it like Hermione's it does have 2 secret pockets for stuff. 

This bag is definitely one that can be kept after Halloween and used daily. 

For those who want the realistic Hermione hair style or those who don't have brown hair a wig is another essential costume accessory. (I think the wand is more essential but it really depends how realistic you want to be with the costume.) 

The wig isn't really something that can be used in "normal" life after Halloween. But it can be used for pretend play if your child is still in the make believe play stage. 

Yes I especially went looking for Crookshanks - Hermione's rather badly behaved cat. I thought this would be another creative Halloween costume accessory idea. Crookshanks is much lighter and easier to carry around than a pile of books too.

This is also another accessory idea that can be kept beyond Halloween night. I think that's better value for money than buying things that can only be used during the holiday season, especially for an accessory item.
