Do you cringe at the thought of combing or brushing your little girls hair? There is an easier more pain free way to detangle your little girls hair getting the tangles out without all those tears.
I have two curly haired girls with thick hair. I can't count the times they took off running when they saw me with brush in hand. Oh those dreaded tangles. I love doing my daughters hair making them look adorable. I was determined to find a way to ease the tension of combing, brushing, styling and getting the tangles out without the tears.
How to Comb a Childs or Little Girls Hair Without Making Them Cry
georgettejohn, It is heart wrenching to pull your little girls hair while brushing or combing.
Oh I remember those days...Now the only one I have at home that cries and screams when hair is combed...is me! I dread doing it every morning!
Miaden, Thanks for adding that, it is so common and yet I remember growing up having the same difficulty IT REALLY HURTS! I vowed to do all I could to prevent pulling my daughters hair. I hope this does help, busy parents need all the help they can get. :)
I remember living with my young cousin, and she had curly thick hair which tangled a lot! I remember her crying every evening, when her mother would try to untangle it. It seemed quite painful!
Great advices, you put here, Katie! I am sure some children will stop crying after their mothers read this article!
kinworm, It seems a common problem we all have. My girls have curly thick hair that tends to be dry. I fill a spray bottle with water adding about 1/4 conditioner to the water, makes for a great tangle spray. I did this once when I ran out adding the water and conditioner to the empty spray bottle and it worked great. You might find adding a small amount to your water helps.
Great tips, Katie. My daughter has extremely fine and straight hair which tangles incredibly easily. I have to spray it with water to gently brush and comb through.
Angel, Its funny you say they want to keep their hair long, mine always did as well, in fact they like it very long. Oh my the struggle of dealing with tangles... Angel I find another good step is combing through their hair while very wet in the shower or bath with the conditioner in it with a wide tooth detangler comb. Give that a go.
I dread doing both of my girl's hair in the morning before school and daycare. Ugghhh.. They throw a fit but demand that their hair stays long. I have one redhead and one blonde that refuses to let me comb through their tangles. I have used everything I can find over the counter and it really does not do any good. I will try some of these items you have posted and see if they help. Thanks for sharing.
