LL Bean Tee Shirts

by paperfacets

I like wearing the tee because the fabric has a little stretch so I feel no binding between the shoulder blade and the sleeve. I wear them with skirts or pants and mix and match.

Stephen King makes fun of LL Bean in his JFK novel I am reading at the moment. Since the seventies I have liked LL Bean clothes. There is the right amount of sport joined with old feel country to suit my low key style.

Plenty of color, a well made cut with rugged stitching ensures a garment will last awhile. My daughter took a plaid wool barn coat from my closet three decades ago and still wears it. When I see it worn I still recall how I liked wearing it on our early camping trips. It is just too small for me now. The shoulder-sleeve bind crept in.

I have a collection of tees that are a good investment for the money.

T-Shirt for Any Weather or Occasion

This summer I found a tank shaped tee I now have three of. Perfect nature hued colors go with many of my skirts and of course with the jean knee lengths I like to wear. I feel very comfortable on hot summer days.

I usually wear medium but I took note that the reviews about the tank said it is sized a bit small. That gave me the cue to go ahead and order large. It fits perfect and I can stretch it around the shoulders and mid section to get the perfect fit when I slip it on.

I like the slub texture that is substantial enough to cover but light for summer. The wonderful colors will work under sweaters and shirts in the fall.

The colors are not true here. Think burgundy, deep olive and a dark teal. The shirts will keep their shape at the base of the neck with strong contrasting trim.

V-neck T-Shirt

I love the fit of this shirt. Light for summer wear. Fall 2015 I ordered sale colors and I now have a pretty rose V-neck. Bean cuts the sale price deeper for some colors.

See them at here.

Scoop Neck and Boat Neck

The scoop neck is a fitted short sleeve that stops just above the elbow. The knit is a bit thicker and is a good silhouette for the office.

The blue is a 3/4 length sleeve with a boat neck.

This one is a winter shirt. Very thick and comfy. I ordered a large. Maybe they will have it in the winter catalog.

A couple of examples of the fit of the Reg M and Large shirt. If reviews mentioned the top runs small, order large and get a good fit.

The blue is a Reg M which I usually order. The tank on the right is a large. This is the West End Tee and I would probably order large in each style. I do have long jeans with the low waist and a long tee is essential. No extra skin at my age.

All these examples are for a 5'2" and 150 pounds frame.

A/O end of July 84 styles of T-shirts for Women

Today (2015) there are 84 styles of fabulous tees for purchase at LL Bean. I always wait for a sale notice to get the best price. Clearance sometimes will have my favorites too. You can use PayPal and in 2016 all items are shipped free.

The styling for women's tees at LLBean always takes into account shape, length trends, color and lots of sleeve choices. All the shirts above have been washed and still look good. For instance, most are longer to come at mid hip.

If you like prints or printed shirts Bean is not the place to go. Solids or some stripes is all you are going to find.

Shrinkage is very little with this retailer's t-shirts. A problem I have found with other cotton tees, such as Kohl's and Target, is the tops seem to stretch out of shape very soon. Many will fit for a couple of years and then they get limp and look too big. I am thinking it is the standex that is put in.

paperfacets, Thank you for all the nice photos which show how these tees hold up in the real world!
As a longtime fan of LL Bean products, I am happy to meet another of the many who appreciate the company's quality products.

I have LLBean clothing in my closet. I don't think you can live in New England and not own one of their tees at least. It's very good quality clothing.

These look great. I like anything with a bit of stretch in it as it keeps its shape. Also, the seaming looks well stitched. Nice article.
