What do you do with all those Stuffed Animals?

I am going to tell you !!

Do you find yourself scratching your head looking at your kids piles and piles of Stuffed Animals all over their room? Don't worry you are not alone because if you have kids then you know their love for anything Plush. The problem is that over the years that loves grows and so does the collection.

The worst part is trying to get your kids to part with any of them. Yes some of us may wait until the kids are sleeping or not home to thin out the collection, but even doing that does not do the job and it can have some repercussions when they go look for that Stuffed Animal we may have thought they forgot about. OK yes I am guilty - I have tried that (lol).

A few years back I just gave up and was so tired of looking at the buckets that were over flowing in my daughter's room filled with Stuffed Animals. It just looked messy and took up much needed space. So I started searching for a solution.

Well I found one !! It is called The Zoo and it is one of the best purchases I have made to date. I have written about this product a number of times, but when I find a product that I love and will help others then I need to get the word out.

Here is a Description of The Zoo:

  • Takes under 2 square feet of floor space. (Can you imagine? It is True)
  • 90 or more medium stuffed animals can have a place to call "home". (I have squeezed in much more)
  • Safe, flexible bars even allow kids to see and move animals in and out easily. (no more digging to find them)
  • Easy assembly using just a screwdriver with clear color photo instructions. (Hubby had it together very quickly)
  • Simple method of attaching to the wall to prevent tipping. (very important to do - mine is secure !!)
  • Made from tough multi-ply plywood that even the toughest kid cannot break. (mine has survived years)
  • Have fun painting The Zoo or just leave it as it is. (I actually stained mine)

Sounds almost too good to be true right? Well it is not and I know that because again I have one.

The other cool thing as stated above it that you can paint your Zoo to match the room decor. The Zoo also comes with the words "The Zoo" engraved at the top, but you can request to have that left off like I did. I figured as my daughter got older that would become juvenile at some point, but that is up to you. I also stained mine with a Cherry Stain vs. Painting so it would match her room as it changes decor over time and I would not have to worry about it.

The other feature of The Zoo that I love are the flexible bars. These make it really easy for your child to pull out the Stuffed Animal they want to play with. It is really easy to see them through the bars and is much better then dumping out a bucket full every time they want to play. Oh and less messy with no clean up !!

Below are pictures showing you my daughter's Zoo after we first set it up. A big difference and so much more room was gained from having this. Of course after I told my sister in law about it she got one for my niece as well (photo shown below). I have since re-done my daughter's room and The Zoo was moved and still being used (photo shown below).

I am tellin' ya if you are losing your mind in Stuffed Animal Madness you have to get one of these !!

So where to your buy one?

Great Idea for Organizing Small Stuffed Animals

Another Stuffed Animal Organizing solution I have done in the past, in addition to The Zoo, was use an over the door shoe holder to store the small stuffed animals. This is back when my daughter was head over heals for Webkinz. I just hung this Canvas Shoe Holder on the wall and stuck  one in each holder - it was perfect !!

You can even get very creative too by painting/stenciling on each pocket if you use a canvas holder like I did - I just never got around to doing that and now her Webkinz have ventured into The Zoo.
