Review of Kirkland Signature Paper Towels

by StevenHelmer

I purchased 12 rolls of this product at Costco the other day. Read to find out what I thought of it.

Product Description: Create-a-size paper towels from the Kirkland Signature brand, promising to be extra thick and absorbent. I purchased 12 160-sheet rolls while doing some other shopping at Costco a couple weeks ago for $15.79 (roughly $1.32 per roll) and have been using them in our kitchen for the past few days.

Review

When my wife and I did some shopping at Costco a couple weeks ago, one of the items I had on my list was paper towels. Specifically, I was looking for a quality paper towel at a reasonable price. And, ultimately, I ended up purchasing a 12-pack of paper towels from the Kirkland Signature brand.

This brand, while a good deal at roughly $1.32 per roll, wasn't the most affordable brand I've purchased. In fact, I have purchased several brands that were considerably less expensive. However, one of the main reasons why I was willing to try this particular brand was I was growing tired of having to use several paper towels to clean up a small mess and hoped this brand would offer better quality without being as expensive as some of the top brand names. As it turns out, I got just that.

When I purchased these paper towels, I actually had a choice between them and the Bounty brand for about the same price. The thing that ultimately made me choose this brand was the fact the rolls had more sheets (160) on them, making it the better bargain.

Just as important, however, is the fact this brand actually offers just as much quality as the Bounty brand. The paper towels turned out to be much thicker than expected and, because of that, I'm able to clean up most spills with only one or two of them rather than a hand full of them (as is usually the case when I buy the really cheap brands). They also don't tear as often, something that is a big plus whenever my cat gets sick and I have to clean up after him.

Another thing I like about this brand is the "choose-your-size" option, that allows us to use a whole sheet or just tear off a half sheet. I like paper towels that have this option because it does make one roll go much further. And, given the fact I do feel I've already gotten quite a bargain on these towels, that only helps justify this purchase more.

Final Opinion

When you consider the fact this brand has rolls that are larger than the average bargain brand, the higher price doesn't seem anywhere near as high as it does at first glance. And, once you use these towels and realize you're getting quite a bit of quality for a reasonable amount of money, I think you'll be sold on these as much as I was.
