Product Description: Pre-packaged potato gnocchi from the Pampa brand. The pre-made gnocchi is prepared on the stove in boiling water and is found in the pasta aisle. I purchased two packages of this product at one of our local grocery stores this past weekend for $1 per package and prepared it as a side dish that night.

I purchased this product this past weekend as a side dish for steak. Read to find out what I thought of it.
Review
My oldest daughter had a figure skating competition this past weekend and, as has become tradition, I made her a steak dinner the night before.
I realized I needed some sort of side dish to go with the steak so, since we had to stop at the grocery anyway, I went looking for something. I saw the Pampa Potato Gnocchi and, both because it was only $1 per package and because it had been a while since we had gnocchi, I decided to pick some up (along with a jar of Alfredo sauce).
I've had pre-packaged gnocchi from a few different brands and the quality from those brands was always a bit mixed. Since this particular brand had such a low price, I wasn't really sure what to expect from it. However, it turned out to be halfway decent.

One thing that really impressed me about this product when I prepared it on my stove was how easy it was to cook. All I had to do was bring some water to a boil, add the gnocchi and wait about 3 minutes before draining it. Convenience like that is something I always appreciate, especially when I'm making a larger meal and have to multi-task.
As far as quality goes, I had no complaints. I won't lie, it was pretty obvious it was a pre-packaged pasta rather than freshly made. But, the taste, texture, etc. far exceeded my expectations for a product I only spent $1 on, especially since there turned out to be more in the package than I was expecting (adding to the overall value). And, my opinion seemed to be shared because I didn't hear any complaints from the rest of the family either.

Final Opinion
It's not as good as fresh-made gnocchi. But, when you take the low price into consideration, it is good enough to be a good value purchase.

StevenHelmer, Sometimes excellent alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks help main dishes and sauces to cover the non-fresh taste of small quantities of a pre-packaged side dish.
