Review of Stoked Pizzeria Style Sausage and Pepperoni Pizza

by StevenHelmer

I purchased this pizza for the first time last night. Read to find out what I thought of it.

Product Description: Frozen sausage and pepperoni pizza from the Stoked brand. I came across this product in the freezer section while shopping at one of our local grocery stores last night and purchased one while it was on sale for $4.99. I ended up making the pizza last night and had it for dinner.

Review

My wife was in the mood for pizza last night so, after work, I stopped off at one of our local grocery stores to pick it up. Normally, I would head to the deli section to get a fresh-made pizza. But, she wanted a veggie pizza and, since I wasn't in the mood for that, I decided to visit the freezer section and look for frozen options that were on sale.

After finding her a veggie pizza, I looked for an affordable meat pizza option for myself. And, after some consideration, I ended up buying this brand. It was my first time making this purchase (it actually was my first time I had seen this brand sold at that store) and I didn't know what to expect as a result. But, after preparing the pizza on my pizza oven last night and trying it, I have to say I was pretty impressed with it.

As is usually the case with frozen brands, I thought the toppings were a little bit lacking when I took this pizza out of the box and, at minimum, it didn't look anything like the picture on the front as a result. This, however, turned out to be the only thing I was disappointed by.

When it came to overall taste, I had no complaints. The sauce had a good blend of seasonings that gave it just the right amount of flavor and the toppings, while, again, lacking a bit, were well-seasoned as well.

I also found I loved the crust on this pizza. It wasn't overly thick but  was definitely thicker than most other pizzas in this price range and, when it came off my oven, it was just the way I like it, a little crunchy without being too hard. This, like the sauce and other ingredients, also had a good flavor to it and made the overall pizza better as a result.

Final Opinion

I'm not sure if I would pay full price for this pizza (if I were to do that, I might as well buy a fresh-made one). But, I did enjoy it and, if I were to find it on sale again, I probably would buy it again.

StevenHelmer, Thank you for practical information, pretty pictures and product lines.
Stoked pizza has to be through the Stoked Pizza Company that I remember from Massachusetts. So perhaps the grocery store where I shop has them.

Was it perhaps a one-off about the somewhat less abundant toppings? Their fresh pizza slices at the actual dine-in, order-out were attractive, delicious and well-cheesed, well-sauced and well-topped.
