Science Fiction Fantasy Author Hank Quense Creates Strange Worlds Online

by NanciArvizu

What happens when classic Shakespeare stories are recreated into alien space tales? Twisted fun with a little satire and a whole lot of laughs.

Visit with Author Hank Quense for a moment and you'll learn he doesn't see the world quite like everyone else. Or any one else, in some cases.

Take his Strange Worlds Online collection, where he turns Shakespeare and Camelot on its space alien head. Meet zany characters like a warrior cook named Burga. Yes, you read that correctly - a warrior cook.

Mr. Quense doesn't stop at fiction. He's also created a non-fiction line of self help booklets for authors covering the topics of writing, self-publishing and promotion.

Author Continues Creating

The world is getting stranger

Hank Quense has been busy since retiring from a career in the technology field.

With eight fiction stories in the science-fiction, fantasy genre, and seven non-fiction self-publishing and writing guides in his library, Hank understands the juggling required to be and author and your own marketing company.

Hank has been a guest on Page Readers Radio a record 5 times to discuss his books. He also allowed me to read an excerpt of Wotan's Dilemma in an episode of Page Readers Outloud.

Always willing to try anything new to promote his brand and books, Hank has graciously been my beta tester for many ideas formulated in the spirit of promoting the Indie Author. He's been more than an enthusiastic test subject, he's been the voice of reason when fleshing out new ways of using the ever unfolding internet to promote books.

In 2015 Hank will release three more titles:

His 7th non-fiction title, Planning a Novel, Script or Memoir.
The anthology, Strange Worlds Stories, Volume 1, in September 2015
His 9th fiction novel, Moxie’s Decision, is scheduled for release in November 2015.

As I go back and listen to these episodes, I'm so pleased - Work done years ago is still doing what it was designed to do. The interviews are still introducing the authors to new fans.

Hank Quense Guest Appearances on Page Readers Radio

Five time guest always welcome on show.

Here are links to interviews with Hank and the Outloud episode.

Very first time on Page Readers!  On this show Hank and I talked about his book "Tunnel Vision", a collection of 20 previously published short stories, in one book.

In his second visit to the show, we discussed his novel "Fools Gold" which was recognized as a Readers Favorite finalist for best sci-fi/fantasy novel of 2009. This story been around a long time, based on a myth that takes place in Germany about a magical horde of gold, Rhine Gold, that keeps the gods young and free from aging. UPDATE: Fool's Gold is now out of print. Check out Wotan's Dilemma for a better twist on the tale.

In his third guest appearance, Author Hank Quense discusses his book "Tales From Gundarland," another collection of humorous short stories and novellas created by this man with such a twisted imagination! If you are a fan of fun science fiction, don't miss this show!

In this episode, Hank shared what it takes to create a story, how to lay it all out and let the creative juices flow. If you are thinking about writing your story or stuck in the middle, this interview is for you.

Hank joined me in this episode of Page Readers to announce the release of book two in his Tales From Gundarland triology, Zaftan Miscreants.

In this episode I changed things up, and read an excerpt from Wotan's Dilemma. Hank was the first author to offer a chapter of his work for the new direction I was taking the show. Thank you Hank!

Hank is such a character. Thanks for watching the videos! He's self-taught meaning he's learned how to make videos and how to hire someone to do it! His stories are funny, his characters are personas all their own.

NanciArvizu, Each of the 3 videos gives an expanding perspective of this unusual author. It's amusing that he incorrectly refers to the interviewer as Martha and persists despite Marcia repeatedly correcting him. ;-0

Yes Sheila, he does take the unusual approach. Good question - what are the results of the efforts? Maybe the topic of another article? :)
