Choosing the Best Sous-Vide Machine for Your Needs

Sous Vide: Supreme vs Demi

How much space do you have?

As you can see, the main difference between the two is size, so much of your decision will be based on how much kitchen space you have available. You can use the measurements listed (according to the Sous Vide Supreme specs it's about the size of a bread machine).

How many people will you cook for?

The Demi has approx. 60% of the cooking capacity compared to the Supreme so if size isn't an issue then you might consider how many meals you are likely to be making at any one time in the oven. If the most people you ever cook for is two then the smaller model will suit but if you plan to be doing a lot of sous vide cooking then the larger stainless steel model may be more suitable.

What color do you want?

The Sous Vide Demi currently comes in four colors - the basic black or grey and limited editions of red and blue so if you have decided on the smaller oven then you can choose one to match your kitchen!

Which Sous-Vide Cooker Should I Buy?

Choose the Demi if:

  • You have a teeny-tiny kitchen and already struggle to get to the kettle.
  • Your budget is limited and you really don't need the extra capacity.
  • Your kitchen is themed in red and absolutey no other color will do!

Go for the Supreme if:

  • You have plenty of kitchen space.
  • You want the added quality of the stainless steel finish.
  • You plan to show off your sous-vide cooking skills to everyone you meet (sorry - cook a lovely meal for your friends, just because...)
