Each sword has glowing lights that can fade up and down, as well as sound effects that were digitally recorded from the movies. Each lightsaber comes with a strong metal hilt and a blade that lights up when it is powered up and down. All sound effects were digitally recorded from the movies, so they are realistic and authentic. Each lightsaber is the same size as those in the movies, at approximately 45 inches long, and they weigh about 3 to 4 pounds, so they look and feel like a real lightsaber would. The lightsabers are pretty sturdy and durable, so even when kids clash them about, they still stay in one piece. That being said, you may not want to hit the polycarbonate blade too hard against solid surfaces as it could damage the lightsaber.

Each Star Wars lightsaber comes with a sturdy metal hilt, a polycarbonate blade that can actually be removed in some models, four different sound effects, and a specially designed base for displaying the collector's item. The lightsabers run on 3 AA batteries, which are not included with purchase. The batteries can be inserted in to the side of the blade easily. The only exception is the Obi-Wan Kenobi Force FX Lightsaber with removeable blade, which runs on 3 AAA batteries which must be inserted by using a screwdriver to remove the top of the battery case.

There are many different models of lightsabers to choose from. The most popular are the Darth Vader model with a glowing red blade and metal hilt, the Anakin Skywalker with a blue blade, the Luke Skywalker with a green blade, the Obi-Wan Kenobi with removeable blue blade, and the Darth Maul version with a glowing red blade. Star Wars fans can essentially choose their favorite character and buy the lightsaber to match that of the character.

Each lightsaber has a suggested age limit of 14 years and older. This is due to the fact that while the lightsabers are toys, they can also be considered a weapon and can actually hurt people if they are swung too hard. That being said, they are beautiful replicas of the authentic lightsabers used in the movies, and thus are a great addition to any Star Wars fan's collection.
