The 100 Episode Review: “Remember Me”

I’ve been patiently waiting for this series to return, partly because I was curious how Finn’s death would affect everyone. I, personally, didn’t really like that character. But, he did, at times at least, seem to be the only one holding things together and I didn’t know what to expect, especially from the volatile Raven.

The apparent assassination attempt on Lexa (Alycia Debnam Carey) was somewhat interesting because, in the early stages of the fragile alliance, it was hard to tell if it was a legitimate attempt by someone like Raven or, as I suspected, if it was just staged as a way of bringing the alliance to an end quickly. And, one one thing I did find myself wondering is whether or not the Mountain Men at Mount Weather maybe have some moles inside the ranks of the Grounders.

One thing I do have to admit is I do like the Grounders’ commander. She’s tough as nails and doesn’t hesitate to kill when needed. But, at the same time, she seems to be willing to walk a tough line between tradition and being a little more progressive than her predecessors apparently were, despite the fact it is something that could get her killed at some point (and I do suspect that will happen eventually). This episode did a good job of showing just how difficult her job is and, after watching it, it is easy to see why Clarke is starting to look up to her a bit and act like her.

The part with the Mount Weather survivors hacking into the Mountain Men’s radio signal was also somewhat entertaining, mostly because it shed a little bit of light on exactly why they ended up crashing when they were first sent to Earth, a sign the Mountain Men knew they were in space the whole time. Monty (Christopher Larkin) showed he can be brave when needed by breaking into the control room to disable the jamming signal. But, predictably, it did result in his capture and it’ll be interesting to see what ends up happening to him.

There wasn’t as much action in this one as some of the other episodes. But, it did a good job setting up what is sure to be an exciting battle between the fledgling alliance and the Mountain Men and I definitely can’t wait to see what happens.
