Getting to The Heart of Racism
It seems odd to me that some people consider themselves 'of pure blood.' Pure of what? At what point in time are they pointing to, while leaving out anything prior that they might have been? Time (Blood) is a much longer thing than three or four ...

Getting to The Heart of Racism
True. I think the problem of today's racism is deeper than slavery. While slavery still exists in many ways in the world, racism also exists through teaching it to the next generation. How do we teach more love? By teaching 'less hate?'

To Dig or Not to Dig; That Is the Question
To confirm my view that some digging, at least initially, is necessary. The new half plot that I have taken over has not been properly dug for several years, not since a very industrious Irishman left us. Since then it has been in inadequate ...

Getting to The Heart of Racism
We are nowadays happily eliminating the belief that there are pure races and that it is somehow better to be pure race person than a mixed race one. Racial theory, which has been the source of many injustices and much unhappiness, is being ...

Getting to The Heart of Racism
I think that racism has a number of intertwining roots, one or more of which might be dominant in specific individuals. In the case of black slavery in the USA racist views developed as a spurious justification for economic injustices. But some ...

To Dig or Not to Dig; That Is the Question
I must confess that when I started reading I was expecting hydroponics, or some other such practice. Nicely done. And I learned there are other ways to not dig than use water.

Wisdom: a forgotten concept
Well said that wisdom cannot be taught. People often confuse knowledge for wisdom, but wisdom is an ability to perceive things beyond just applying factual knowledge. It has to do with understanding which is higher than just knowing.
