I recently got my oldest daughter watching this show. It's not her favorite program. But, she likes it enough for it to count as a compromise when she wants to watch TV but I don't want to watch her cartoons.

It's a lot of prep work for them but the girls love it. They had a competition this past Saturday and my youngest got a silver medal in her level while her older sister took two platinum (4th place) medals in her contests.

The Andy Griffith Show Episode Review: "Barney and Thelma Lou, Phfftt"

I enjoyed this. It's the first time I watch an episode of the Andy Griffith show. I liked the writing and humor, even though it was overdone at times. But that was part of the charm.

They are amateur competitions sponsored by non-profit clubs. The girls compete for medals and trophies only, much like any other sport. Though, they do also usually receive some sort of gift bag with things like water bottles, makeup, etc.

I haven't seen any films with Rita Hayworth. I would be interested to see Gilda after reading this review. I find that films of the forties have more intricate plots than most current Hollywood flicks.
