How do the British Make Tea? Absolutely Not Like You Think We Do

As long as it's tea, I couldn't care less for the niceties of how it's made. The one complaint I have is that my mum-in-law makes tea so fortnight it's like drinking used dishwater. The teabag gets put next to the mug, I swear, rather than in it.
