The Interactive Holiday Toy for Christmas Gift – The Furby Boom
I liked the original Furbies, but these look really cute. It's easy to see why they will be highly requested this year.

First Aid: Would you Know What to Do?
Dustytoes - I've put a strong emphasis above on dealing with strangers in public places. But First Aid moments can just as easily turn up in private, when there's no-one else to handle this stuff. If I'm there, then I promise I will always run ...

First Aid: Would you Know What to Do?
WriterArtist - Once you understand the basics of how blood pumps around the body, then you can stem most bleeds quite quickly. Fear largely comes from not knowing what to do at the sight of it, plus the fact that blood so often means bad ...

First Aid: Would you Know What to Do?
Mira - In twenty years, I've only ever seen bones protruding once. That might mean that I'm incredibly lucky, or it might mean that those kind of fractures are more uncommon than we think. I'm glad that I've prompted you to think about learning ...

First Aid: Would you Know What to Do?
I admit that I am like the majority of people - I look for someone else to handle this stuff. We are lucky there are people like you around. And yes, more of us should learn, and be able to step up.

First Aid: Would you Know What to Do?
I tend to get scared seeing an open wound and blood oozing from the injury. However; I agree with you - we must all be ready with first aid.

First Aid: Would you Know What to Do?
I should learn this stuff too. I'll look into it. Only I don't think I could "deal with it," "it" being the sight of broken bones protruding through the skin, and so forth.

The Mythical Firebird
I was looking at the story of the firebird again just the other day. I love that you included ballet clips as well. I should really go see some dance :) I saw the movie on Pina Bausch last year and loved it to bits.

James Blake House - Oldest in Boston
Back in the 1960's, as a recently graduated history teacher, I was offered a great deal…to live in the Blake House for free, and in return I had to open the home to the public for just 5 or 6 ...

Angry Deaf Christmas Ornaments
As these ornaments (and articles) are being created, I have my family and friends seeing them in my social networking streams. They're kind of registering them all anyway. Though I have highly amused myself a couple of times, so I am still ...

On the Trail of Pope John Paul II in Krakow
They really were. They were nothing like the churches in Britain. The sheer array of colour was immense. I agree. It must have been terrifying in Krakow at that time.

On the Trail of Pope John Paul II in Krakow
Those churches must have been amazingly beautiful. I liked the bit where you wrote that there was a touch of the miraculous in his calling. What a frightening time.
