It was some 66 years ago when the tiny little building blocks that have become known as Legos first became available to the public. A shop in Denmark had been making toys for quite a while before that and came up with the idea for the little plastic bricks for children to build things with and use their creative and imaginative skills.
I think it would be difficult to find someone who has not played with Legos at least once in their lifetime. Some of us, never stopped playing with them. We might have tried to hide it from the adults around us, we might have had children so that there was an excuse to play with them and then we probably pressed our children to hurry and give us grandchildren so that we could legitimize building things with these colorful little building bricks. Well, that might be stretching it just a bit but you see how some people might have gone to great lengths to be able to play.
Lego figured out there there was actually a market for sets of building blocks geared toward the adult builder or the advanced fans. Within the last decade there have been sets made for that specific demographic...adults who play with toys. Now, there is no shame in it for those of us who love to build cool things.

I had no idea those existed! But yes, they do sound fab.
Would love to have one of the original wooden lego toys. No doubt worth a few bob!
Cool! Love Lego but then again who doesn't!?
I am collecting (and building) the entire LEGO Winter Village series to display on our fireplace mantel during the holidays. I can also recommend the Medieval Village type sets and the big Sopwith Camel, a historic airplane replica, for the discerning AFOL. :)
Lego! I grew up with this thing! It's the greatest! Thumbs up!
My grandkids are really into legos now. Maybe I should get my own set and join them.
