MOMA Holiday Cards - Stylish, Modern and Arty

by TerriRexson

The Museum of Modern Art make some wonderful christmas and winter holiday cards by amazing artists. Let's take a look at the MOMA holiday cards.

Stylish, Arty and Modern Christmas Cards

The MOMA range of holiday cards is just gorgeous! Every year the Museum of Modern Art works with designers and artists to create wonderful new cards for the holiday season.

I discovered the range because I'm a big fan of pop-up book artist and paper engineer Robert Sabuda. I love Sabuda's pop-up books and his MOMA holiday cards are gorgeous too.

When I looked at the rest of the MOMA holiday card range I found gorgeous cards like Santa's Sweet Shop by John McDonald (pictured to the right.) It has a real Christmas theme and makes a great card for kids and nostalgic adults alike.

Modern Holiday Cards by Artists

There are lots of gorgeous Christmas and winter cards in the range by various artists. They all have a crisp modern feel to them and wonderful design details.

There are designs like the beautiful Winter Wonderland by Peagreen with intricate die-cut work. I just love the colors in Winter Wonderland, mostly white, but with some wonderful modern bright colors, not normally associated with winter - but it really works.

3D Holiday Cards by MOMA

I love the 3D cards in the MOMA range. These aren't just ordinary cards with a picture on the front! You're giving someone a lovely piece of paper engineering to put on display in their home during the festive season.

Keisuke Unosawa's white reindeer against green trees in the Decorated Forest cards are just gorgeous. Full of character and stylish too.

I love the bright pinks of the Glittering Baubles card. Pink is a popular Christmas color these days and it's used to great effect here.

Pop Up Holiday Cards

And then we have the MOMA Pop Up holiday cards. These are the first cards in the range that I discovered.

I just love the Winter Skaters Pop Up cards by Robert Sabuda. The figures are so animated - I love the small child flying through the air! Like so many of the MOMA holiday cards, and also Sabuda's other work, white features heavily in this card making it very stylish. And the brightly colored hats and scarfs add a touch of fun.

Oh and that Jolly Santa with his presents is a gorgeous pop up card to give to a child. The Christmas gifts really jump out from the card.

And don't forget the Santa's Sweet Shop pop up card by John McDonald that we started with.

The MOMA Christmas cards are lovely to have on display throughout December. Getting one of these cards is like getting a little gift. Don't forget to keep one of the cards for yourself!

These cards are sure to be a talking piece for visitors during the festive season, expect to get lots of comments about the cards.
