Steampunk Bathroom Ideas

Let's imagine the walls and ceiling first. Mod-Vic look tiles start our project at the top. Generally the bath is the smallest room unless one is working with a modern house with the master bath. This may not be a big expense.

Use the patina in the tile to help with the color palette. Googling Steampunk color palette brings up colors galore in working with the patina. 

Below is seven color palettes for your house. Two vertical rows have the aqua color included. The row on the far left side with the white and yellows can include a red hue for accent, such as flowers, a wall hanging with matching red hues or a pair of candle holders.

Endless choices for the tub. I advise getting what you like to soak in.  I have heard that acrylic is easy to clean. Be sure to consider length of tub and drain location and what kind of faucet will work in your bath.

Here are some choices from the Internet that would give you a starter Steampunk look in the bath. Get some basics and than find your favorite eclectic pieces to really steam up the atmosphere.

Steampunk lighting is the least expensive way to get the look started in any room. Handmade examples are prevalent on Etsy and ebay. Check all your options.  

Most vanities can be customized with bowl, top and faucet. The Jefferson above is a good example. It is also available in different wood types. I like how the bowl sits on the surface just like the vanities that were 19th century bedroom staples.   Running water is our everyday convenience now, thank you for that. Instead of carrying a chamber pot out, I can use the time for a blow dry or putting on miracle wrinkle cream.
