The 10 Best Google Nexus 7 Covers, Cases and Screen Protectors

i-Blason have some of the best genuine leather cases for all kinds of electronic devices. The leather exterior is soft and flexible but a good tight fit (specially designed for the Nexus 7). The soft polyurethane interior will not scratch your screen.

The case opens to make a stand with three slots for the bottom edge of the tablet. This means you can adjust the viewing angle to a comfortable position for either portrait or landscape mode.

It will automatically send the Nexus 7 into sleep mode when closed.

The genuine leather RooCase offers complete enclosure for the Google Nexus 7 (unlike the i-Blason) and might be a better choice for people used to treating their personal electronics harshly. It will keep out dust, grit and rain- important for outdoor people.

It has a similar multi-position stand capacity and will send the tablet to sleep when closed.

The inner case detaches (Velcro fastenings) for ease of use.

Right now. the RooCase is only available in black but expect that to change. RooCases for the iPad and Kindle fire come in all kinds of variations.

This is one of the better polyurethane synthetic leather cases and comes at a good price for a fully functional folio case.

It will not send you tablet into sleep mode and it will not smell as good as a RooCase. On the other hand it is absolutely waterproof, the case will never stretch and the colors are very attractive.

The pink, blue and mauve KaysCases pictured below are just a few that can be found online.

FINTIE have some well priced cases with a big choice of colors.

There is an external stylus holder and a free stylus is included.

The only real drawback with FINTIE cases is that when used as a stand there is only one position available (see picture right)

The two-tone black and brown case is surprisingly appealing in a stylish, retro way.

The Nexus 7 gets a high level of protection with full, zippered enclosure and a hard, waterproof outer casing. The soft inner surfaces protect against scratching.

The case will act as a stand.

At around $5, this has to be one of the most economical options available.

The downside is that it is difficult to use the tablet while it is encased. And I don't trust the retaining straps...

This a leather finish folio case with a extra protection. The rigid back helps prevent the kind of damage that can come bending as well as impacts.

It is much more slender than the hard shell case above and works well as a multi-angle stand.

The price point is pretty good for a stylish, well-cut, well-stitched case.

Probably the best back cover around. The firm non-slip TPU (a sort of superior silicone like material) will not slide off polished surfaces and it will not show scratches easily.

It is especially good at absorbing shocks and wraps around to protect edges and corners- the parts most easily damaged.

All the ports on the Nexus 7 are easily accessible and their is never any need to remove the case.

Couple this cover with a good screen protector this is all the protection you will need if you are a careful person and use the tablet indoors most of the time.

There are plenty of colors to choose from including clear (pictured right), hot pink, blue, purple and black.

The soft, velour fabric feels good in the hand. The full, zippered enclosure keeps out dust. The Android figures are cute. The padded interior provides protection against bumps and knocks. 

There is plenty to like about this case.

Unless you happen to be male.

Would I seen be dead carrying it? No. Would I give it to the woman in my life? For sure.

This rooCase is a more of a man thing. It has huge neoprene bubbles that are excellent at absorbing shocks. If you had to take your Nexus 7 snowboarding this would be one of the best cases for the job.

Drop it on a hill and it should safely bounce all the way to the bottom.

The only drawback is that it is pretty fat.

Screen protectors that are applied without adhesive are the easiest option for a bubble free finish.

This KayCase is invisible and stays in place by simple static attraction.

To fix you peel away the bottom layer and smooth the protector into place. Then the top layer can be removed and installation is complete.

Some people are deterred from using full body protectors and dislike wet applications. The truth is it can be a nightmare if you don't follow the instructions carefully.

The payoff is a real tough protector that will resist attacks with sharp instruments.

Recommended for the patient.

Not recommended for the clumsy!
