Understanding the Situation in Jerusalem
The point I have been confused about is that a nation chooses its own capitol, hence should be able to direct other nations where embassies can exist. Where a country opts to set up an embassy requires agreement with the hosting nation. ...

Understanding the Situation in Jerusalem
Sheri, you make a vitally important distinction between the old city of Jerusalem and the whole Jerusalem municipality, which extends far beyond the old city boundaries. I think that it is the old city that is sacred to three great religions ...

Understanding the Situation in Jerusalem
Thank you for the informative comment, which I do not consider too long. I am aware that the Middle East is a complex place in which historical issues burn for a long period. My main concern is that we find a path through the issues which does ...

Understanding the Situation in Jerusalem
Hi Frank. I suppose you figured I would come along and comment on this post that you very timely put up. You have done a very good job, but let me put some fine-tuning on your understandings. First of all, the Palestinians that were here before ...

Celebrating Christmas
This is a very varied article, for you touch on so much.

Christmas food for the Tudor rich and poor

Christmas food for the Tudor rich and poor
Here there is insufficient English heritage to find English feasts, but the Le Réveillon de Noël will soon be served by several of the better chefs for the season. Here, there is a core of French heritage. I am quite a mixture, having both ...

The Company of Trees
I have had the experience of visiting an arboretum in the mid eighties, and it is a worthwhile venture. I visited one near Chicago which was named for the family that owned Morton salt. I recall the tees arranged by continent, and a peaceful ...

Keep Christ in Christmas
As for distribution, some areas have a wide range of income levels, others do not. But parishes are assigned a twinning parish, so it is the less fortunate area that might benefit. Twinning parishes are not just for a season, but are ...

They don't go to my area ; we give them to two areas in the north of my diocese- one where you taught when you first started and one where our youngest sibling was born.
The only poverty where I live is poverty of Spirit.
